    Nice package.Score:

    • Nose
If the colour don't give it away the sweet smell sure does. Sherry butt. Small sediments in the glass.

A laid back spicy nose. Honeycake. Roasted nuts.
    • Taste
Initially I get a tingling feeling which then develops into a burning feeling. Dried pepper.

Goji berry. Then lots of sweetness which make me think of dried fruits, but which? Dried mulberry. Is there dried raisins in it too?

      Complex.
    • Finish
Slow uniform finish revealing pear like notes.

Can't really get my head round this. Bad balance or too complex for me? Another tasting is needed.

Magnificent Arran. I don't recognizethe distillery, but it very complex, scales well from sweet to sour.
    • Nose
Big dose of sherry. Caramelized plum. Rum cherry. Vanilla and flower honeys.
    • Taste
Powerful, buttery flavors. Caramel, plum and cherry. Balanced with cocoa, coffee and tobacco. Oak.
    • Finish
Medium length, spicy, sour with big tannins in the end.

  3. moviemaniac scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

A dry(ish), spicy, fruity but not too sweet heavily sherried dram. A tad generic, this could be from almost any Highland-style distillery with a lighter style spirit profile. Which is not bad per se, it is a very nice sherried dram - but the distillery character is more noticeable in the other two samples.

Not the greatest example of Arran whisky, but it's not really meant for drinking anyway.
    • Nose
Obvious sherry cask influence with brown sugar, raisins, stewed prunes, dates, toffee. Arran spirit shines through with lighter fruits too.
    • Taste
Quite thick and oily. Not overly sweet. Cocoa, toffee, espresso, prunes, raisins, dried figs, tobacco leaves. Vibrant.
    • Finish
Quite long, slightly bitter, but not in an unpleasant way. The notes of coffee and cocoa fade gently.
