    Nose:
    The sherry notes with dark fruit dominate first. Now the spices are coming, especially cinnamon. I find some citrus and vanilla in the background. Dry wood, leather and earthy notes also emerge.

    Taste:
    Chocolate and dark dried fruit are there as expected. I taste spices, vanilla and citrus fruits as well as a strong oak note. If you leave the malt in your mouth for a while, the malt looks a bit watery.

    Outlet:
    Medium length with fruit and plenty of dry oak.

    A great, mature, noble and complex highlander. Now quite expensive at around € 95.00!
    See him at eye level with King Alexander III.
    • Nose
      sweet, raisins, oranges, sherry, spices, dark chocolate;
    • Taste
      aromatic, soft, fruity (oranges), sherry, creamy, chocolate, mocha, hazelnuts, cinnamon, vanilla, oily, fine spicy oak, complex;
    • Finish
      soft, long, sherry, nutty aftertaste, dry oak;

    Aroma: cotton candy, creamy coffee aroma, sweet vanilla pastry, shortbread with fudge, baklava, notes of dessert wine, blooming acacia, light honey notes, fresh mint candies, sweet oatmeal with fruits, a little anise liqueur, nuts, sweet spices; in the background, minerality breaks through: a wet cellar with walls covered with lime; old lacquered furniture, notes of coniferous resin. Very complex, slowly revealing scent.

    Taste: sweet-spicy, caramel, pleasant oak, spices, dark chocolate with nuts, sweet black coffee, minerality.

    Finish: medium length, caramel, pleasant fading spice, chocolate, coffee with milk, sweetness gradually turning into dryness, tannin and bitterness.

    Very good single malt, quite complex and with very obvious sherry influence. Gentle smoke makes it even better. Well matured but maybe not complex enough for this age. The balance is very good and overall it's very gentle and drinkable whisky. The regular price of 100 euros looks quite high but if you can get it for about 80 euros - the purchase looks is reasonable in this case
    • Nose
      Sweet, sherry, pear lollipop, dried apricot, sultanas, yellow plum, honey, brown sugar, woody notes, hint of smoke, water adds more honey and some floral notes
    • Taste
      Sweet, slightly oaky, cinnamon, toffee, butterscotch, orange zest
    • Finish
      Medium-long, dry, oaky, some nuts, dry tobacco leaf notes

    A pleasantly pleasant whisky, in which the smell and aftertaste are better than the taste itself. The high price is not entirely worth it.
    • Nose
      Clear sherry influence, coffee, mocha, caramel, banana too, and chocolate. Soft and friendly fragrance.
    • Taste
      Soft, full-bodied taste. Little prickling on the tongue. Chocolate is clear, and coffee, mocha again. Compared to the smell, the taste is then again somewhat flat.
    • Finish
      Light stimulus in the throat now, sweet. Some banana now comes through, and again the coffee. Dark chocolate too, including the somewhat bitter undertone. Fairly long.

    not as good value as the 15 so i’d get that instead, flavor wise, this is better but still all too similar with the 15, so it’s not worth the extra money
