The nose is cool for the price
    • Nose
Apple, yeast dough dusted with flour, later massive vanilla, honey, sweet fruits
    • Taste
slightly alcoholic undiluted. with few water, nuts, banana, beautiful intensive oak - spicy intense but young and wild
    • Finish
      short nutty, slight bitterness, spices

B (84 if you must); My first foray into Tomatin - makes me think of a young and temperamental Arran. I was about to give up on this bottle until I was about 80% finished—then it finally opened up. Glad it did, but still not incredible. Nose is interesting but the palate pretty basic. Very okay?
    • Nose
Moderately dense. Vanilla, coconut, and honey, sure. Wet brown sugar, fermented peach, cardamom, anise, sea air, mushrooms in a musty basement, freshly cut green onions, and a little bitter/medicinal note deep down.
    • Taste
Light and slightly creamy. Honey, lemon, cardamom, crushed rocks, coconut milk, and some sweet pear. Very little to do with the nose.
    • Finish
Bright and long. Spicy cinnamon, bittersweet ginger, lemon, and coconut.

Flawless malt with the typical traits of first fill bourbon casks, but a little too one-dimensional to really entertain.
    • Nose
The nose is fresh on sweet malt and all kinds of sugars, loads of vanilla and some baked apples. Very summery in my book. There is a mildly floral element like freshly cut grass and wild heathery flowers.
    • Taste
It has a mildly oily body and is honeysweet from the first sip. A truckload of vanilla and caramel, offering little change for the fruit to manifest itself. It is soft on the spices with some white pepper, liquorice and ginger. But if I may be totally honest, quite one-dimensional.
    • Finish
The finish is medium long on more of the same with somewhat drying tannins at the death.
