    • Nose
Sweetness of mashed, ripe apples, floral with heather, freshly cut grass and herbal. Sweet clementine, tropical fruits and light nectar.

This nose is amazing (reminds me of CB The General & TINALW), aged and elegant. The oak and tropical fruit are right in the palate/finish are right in my wheel house as well, but that nose….
    • Nose
      94 94
      Sigh, this is amazing.
Musty (library) stewed apples, honey, candles (wax), floral, sweet oak.
    • Taste
      91 91
A wonderful oak presence (medium) light spice, chewy, ripe tropical fruits (pineapple/mango), white pepper, varnish
    • Finish
      91 91
Vanilla, oak, citrus (orange/lemon), fruit cocktail

I really like beautiful tropical and complex fruit bombs - another example of how complex long bourbon maturations can be
    • Nose
      91 91
Ripe papaya with honey, kumquats, vanilla, oriental spices, a hint of incense (?)
    • Taste
      91 91
Again the tropical fruits, papaya and mango, after a long time in the glass the malt penetrates more into the foreground and the complexity becomes clear, very well integrated wood notes expand in the mouth and complement the taste spectrum
    • Finish
      90 90
Long with dry fruit sweetness, only a small, subtle, pleasant wood note for its old age

      Medium weight body.
Wood and alcohol are well integrated.
Fruit mix with malt, leather and a great mix of spices.
    • Finish
      90 90
Relatively short, but nice and fruity, malty & spicy.

Thanks to Ady Tay for the sample.

Another fruity one, and rather sweet as well. Fresh orange juice, mango, peaches, apricot, melon. It evolved from fresh fruits into something like pineapple or apple tart. It's fresh and aromatic, and there's a certain old school style on the nose. You won't get bored if you're a fan of fruit bomb.
    • Taste
      91 91
Explosive fruitiness and sweetness attacking your tongue immediately. The same fruits you get from the nose. Vibrant and lively.
    • Finish
      90 90
Pleasant and mouth-watering, medium long flawless finish.

Wenxiang Nose: The picture is very Tiki, pineapple, mango, bergamot, frosting hawthorn, locust nectar, maple syrup, not only does not show old-fashioned, but it has a little green vitality, bringing a full fragrance.

Taste Palate: It is still very energetic, the wine power brings some crispy hemp, the strength of tropical fruits weakens, leaving pineapple, bergamot, ginger candy, wort, plum, rock sugar Sydney, the probability of having a weak temperament Shirley barrel to participate great.

After rhyme Finish: Longer, but more monotonous. Fatty beef with sour soup with almonds, malt and peppercorns.

Body: Heavier. Continuing my impression of linkwood's magnificent wine body, the flavor is clear and full, the balance is good, slightly dry, and the wine power is more obvious.

a very tasty, complex and mature whisky. In no case worth the price, but as a sample completely fine.
    • Nose
Pur: closed at the beginning, smells a bit "banal" to pear and orange. With some time in the glass he opens up, mango, pineapple and green banana, plus tobacco and light rosy sherry notes. Complex and delicious. With a little water: slightly medicated, salty, olive oil. Krass!
    • Taste
Pure: full-bodied, sweet tart approach, very ripe and pleasant wood / sherry notes, vanilla ice-cream with hot raspberries, also here tobacco, heavy, well-pulled green tea. With a bit of water: here, too, a little salty maritime (where does that come from?), Otherwise the same notes as pure, everything a bit more intense. Water is good.
    • Finish
long, a lot of oak, tannins, chocolate.

C: Today this Linkwood was overshadowed by most of the above, but it remains a very good and thoroughly enjoyable whisky.

Not very special but just pretty drinkable
    • Nose
Malty, dried hay, hints of citrus and green fruits, honey, whiffs of tobacco
    • Taste
Little punchy, citrusy, malty, dry hay again, good sweetness
    • Finish
Medium long, warm, a tad bitter in the end

Saulecker, unfortunately far from any budget, but nice to have tasted the times.
    • Nose
Wow, pouring a very interesting note meets me - tropical fruit (grapefruit, melon) mixed with fresh pine needles, in the glass it is first dull, a little wood and tobacco, but water and time bring back, to marzipan and a touch of furniture polish
    • Taste
warm, velvety, full-bodied, brown sugar, ricola, a light rum note, sweetish tobacco, black tea, for 37 years, the bitterness / woodiness is amazingly peaceful
    • Finish
long and delicious ... cough syrup, liquorice, dark chocolate, peppery-warm

    Tasting Notes by Diageo

Color: Strong golden yellow, polished antique brass

Aroma: Soft, needs some time to open; then slow development of delicate fresh fruit notes, sweet pure fruit salad of honeydew melon, grapes, mandarin zest, apple and pear over a base of crumbly butter toffee. Gradually more intense and stronger like fruit salad in syrup; maybe creamier with marzipan, vanilla and a touch of licorice. Then gracefully beguiling and intoxicating, with notes of white rose over soft creme brulee. Water closes its aroma without changing it. More butterscotch; then smelling like an old-fashioned fruit shop in the summer.

Taste: Medium body. Tempting on the palate, initially generous soft texture; fruity sweet and sugary, then warming and tart with baked apple in the middle of the palate. Quick development of an appetizing dryness with black tea and herbal cough drops, balanced by rum & raisin ice cream, lime and waxy vanilla. Finally notes of ginger, cloves and a pinch of salt. With water, the apple is slightly caramelized and accompanied by sugar-sweet vanilla biscuit.

Finish: Long-lasting and warming, with a peppery note. Oak and herbaceous with dry, enveloping tannins and a clean, aromatic finish; in the aftertaste spices in combination with milk chocolate and honed hardwood. With water drier, but still warming; lighter, with hints of cedarwood, waxy and late softer and longer tannins.

Remarks: Pure and light LINKWOOD, with style and elegance. The epitome of the "finesse" of Speyside. He is characterized by his typical fresh fruity and floral character and wants to be slowly accessible; the nose gives little indication of the splendid elegance and complexity that unfolds on the palate and on the finish of this refined malt.

    Tasting Notes by TWE

Nose: Polished apples, waxed jackets and honeysuckle sweetness. Hints of damp wool slowly develop, balanced by soft sweetness.
Palate: Sweet and creamy – strawberries and cream,
and rhubarb and custard sweets – with a background of crumbled brownie
(chocolate soil, anyone?) and musky green leaves. Water brings out more
candy notes and a touch of Turkish Delight.
Finish: More rhubarb and custards, icing and green leaves. The sweetness slowly fades, leaving the leaves.
Comment: Exactly my style of whisky and easily
fulfilling my expectations. Creamily textured with controlled sweetness
and a balance of sweetshop flavours and leafy, forest notes. My
    favourite of the 2016 line-up.
