  1. Torfding scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

Young grains can also be good, but not necessarily this one. Not that he's bad, no. A pleasantly drinkable whiskey for on the side. A bit like a cross between a grain and soft sweet fruit brandy.

  2. Paulsen scored this whisky 60 points Expert Junior

a sample, that's all it takes. It doesn't have much to do with whiskey to my taste, sweet fruit schnapps is more appropriate.

  3. Hazar scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

    Color: Pale gold, straw.
Aroma: Sweet with bitterness and alcoholic notes, powdered sugar, butter fudge, sweet butter cream, pastries, cream eclairs, cranberries in sugar, wet oak boards. Compared to the previous sample, there are much less lacquer-acetone notes. With warming up, alcoholicity is also manifested, more wood and butter cream, cranberry pomace, a little pomelo and nuts of milk ripeness with bitterness, notes of organic matter and old cardboard.
Taste: Bittersweet with spices and berry notes, lots of wood, nuts, dried apple peel, zest, ginger and alcohol tingle. In general, it is easy to drink and can already be rolled in the mouth.
Finish: Not very long, sweetish-tart with bitterness, woody, berry and spicy notes. On the exhale, creamy berry cream, a little chocolate, raw almonds, cranberry cake and raw oak. At the end, it fades out smoothly without losing the main notes. It becomes drier, berry sourness appears.
Conclusion: Surprisingly, the Burgundy barrel has greatly changed the character of the spirits in six months. Yes, there is still a grain-like spirit, but there is much less of it and it is well hidden behind berry and woody notes. The taste is much more pleasant, the balance is greater, and even hints of complexity have appeared. The range is still not rich, but it is already quite pleasant to drink and taste.

Sweet and sour berries and notes of vanilla. Drinkable but not great.
    • Nose
Flowery, raspberries and a little vanilla. Grain and slightly sour notes.
    • Taste
Berries again, this time tart currants, a little spice.
    • Finish
      Currants and peppery spiciness. Popcorn.

There is not much to discover in the taste. Typical grain notes and sweetness. In the mouth there is a lot of sweetness and some wine gum. That's not the matter much more.
Rather boring and therefore not for me.

Blind Tasted: Crossing of Bourbon and Malt?
    • Nose
At first, a torrent of wood pulled into my nose, which is not necessarily the most elegant. After some time, the wood was still strongly present, but it also developed fruity notes (ripe and unripe fruit), red berries, pronounced vanilla flavors and spices. Has a medium to full body from the nose.
    • Taste
Medium body. Mature and unripe fruits are accompanied by a pleasant wood and charcoal. Overall creamy and due to the low-alcohol content of this whiskey (e) y is mild.
    • Finish
Rather short and sour-fruity (jam) with a bitter woodiness and some barley.

Sweet nose, slightly fruity. Unspectacular in taste. Few flavors. Subtle vanilla. Tastes more like fruit brandy. Short, bitter finish.
