    Part of a glenfarclas tasting

    I found it disappointing to be honest. Not that it’s bad at all, but for the price nowadays it’s way overpriced. Comes in a very pretentious box though! Hey for $600, maybe there’s some gold flakes in there. I am not the target audience here

      It’s very “blended”, lacking a little in character, it’s got milk chocolate, soft tobacco, no spices here, creamy and simple
    • Taste

      Good mouthfeel with no flaws, but no real character either. Creamy and malty, milk chocolate, clotted cream, good vanilla, subtle berries

      Short, but tasty, vanilla, chocolate and a little cardamom.

    Not bad, sure to please, but not a spectacular or sweeping whisky ...

    Amazingly bright color. As the taste suggests later, probably because the barrels were very exhausted.
    Taste: harmonious, but offers nothing special, hardly any sherry, has quite a lot of power despite little alcohol (well integrated), very light cardboard, honey, slightly bitter, glue, light fruits (mirabelle plums), no depth, slightly earthy, astringent, honey, Sweetness at the end, long finish. Nice development in the mouth. Has a rather low flavor intensity. Overall, despite its old age, this standard is significantly less interesting than many cheaper and younger family casks. At the latest when you look at the price, the bottling is completely uninteresting.

    Good sherry.
    Better revealed with a drop of water.
    Nose: edible, pie, raisin ...
    Taste: again raisins ...
    Aftertaste: long, iron and blood ...

    A great malt, in direct comparison I liked the 25-year-old better!

    [Color] dark gold;
    • Nose
      mild, malty, sweetness (honey), light Sherryote, some spiciness;
    • Taste
      sweet onset, swelling, ripe fruit (apples, pears), spicy / European oak, powerful;
    • Finish
      voluminous (roaring) finish, slightly burning; juicy pear sounds;
