    without a doubt a successful bottling - slightly alcoholic - slightly bitter - clear "dry" Oloroso sherry notes - no distillery character (I would never have come across Arran!) ....
    already very good ... but he lacks a lot about the "top malt"!
    [Color:] = mahogany;
    • Nose
      86 86
      dark berries, dry sherry, bitter almonds, you can still feel the alcohol, spices, oak;
    • Taste
      87 87
      aromatic and strong in the beginning, dry sherry, berries, (whole milk) chocolate, spices (pepper), oak, multi-layered;
      a few drops of water are good for him!
    • Finish
      87 87
      medium-long finish, tart, slightly bitter (bitter almonds), distinctly oak;

    Very restrained nose, very passable, but it is far too little to smell. Color in the glass for a sherrycask whisky quite bright. The big disappointment is the taste. Unexpected cold smoke / ash, which drowns out everything else and should not be present in an Arran. I could not drink my dram because of the very unpleasant taste.

    A classic Olorosowhisky, which seems a little out of round at one point or another.
    Tasty, but not remembered.
    • Nose
      Classic, Oloroso sherry, dried fruit, oak, unfortunately a light alcoholic touch, almonds and marzipan, blackberry
    • Taste
      Cool onset, gentler than expected, sour cherry, blackberry, orange, slightly sour, little oak
    • Finish
      Light bittersweet, chocolate with orange peel, almond, medium-long

    Quite beautiful malt but as always with BPCH clearly too much on tap for me.
    • Nose
      Kernelife, crumble cake, vanilla-streusel, honey with berries zermatscht, orange peel, orange juice, red apple, cinnamon and nutmeg, bitter almonds, marzipan later
    • Taste
      Very strong, full orange bomb and plum, with peel each, warm, pepper, chocolate, brown sugar, thyme and rosemary, licorice, cocoa powder, licorice, Oloroso, increasingly sweet, caramel
    • Finish
      Medium long, here comes a little musty oak probably from the damp barrel, a little espresso, rather bitter, sweet tobacco and just a little berry must

    • Nose
      The colleague starts with pickled cherries and a slight touch of glue. Orange marmalade and a cool breeze of alcohol. Mirabellen, goes already towards Mirabellenschnäpsle, with chocolate. Reminds me somehow "noble drops in nut". Marzipan and caramel are coming after. Pie spices.
    • Taste
      But spicy start. Nutty bitterness. And then comes the creamy, evidencing fruit. But not really cute. Follow herbal herbs. Slightly sour plum comes, which is then replaced yet sweet and fruity. The orange marmalade appears and occupies the entire mouth.
    • Finish
      Medium. Espresso. Then pushes the creamy sweetness.

    Nose: Vanilla liqueur dough with plenty of butter and right next to it ripens the yeast dough from which draws a slightly sour note, tangerines, apricots, bitter almonds, later marzipan, some wax, orange peel, honey, wood flavors very well hidden as a voluminous backdrop of fruit notes, Bergamot, roasted sesame Taste: strong sweet and sour oranges, oak and orange oil with some menthol tingle on the tongue, dried apricots dissolve the oranges, slightly more acid spreads and brings a slight bitterness with dominate woody notes at the end, the orange and the menthol note remains the tongue, with the second sip the oranges become even more intense, sweetness and fruit stimulate the salivation, delicious - the fruit dominates over the wood notes Conclusion: a nice round yet powerful malt, the Brennereicharakter steps behind the maturation, the nose is slightly ahead

    Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. I had expected more from a 20yo Arran. Still not a bad whisky! I lack complexity and depth. Otherwise you get the complete apparatus delivered ;-)

    Beautiful tasty Olorosherry whisky. Yes delicious. The nose would certainly tolerate some water, taste and finish rather not.
    • Nose
      Strong Oloroso and fresh alcohol, nutty, nougat chocolate, plums, beautiful peppery spiciness, the alcohol still tickles, oak, some caramel, blackberry, cherries, heavy full creamy fruitiness, raisins, canned mandarins. The sweet and creamy fruit is becoming more and more dominant. Plum cake with butter crumble, cinnamon and sugar. He needs his time, now he likes me really well. Really beautiful Oloroso. I probably would have appreciated him younger.
    • Taste
      strong, warm, pepper, plum, chocolate, berries, leather, Oloroso, increasingly sweet, caramel, woody tart
    • Finish
      very sweet tobacco and "sweet" leather, wood, milk chocolate, berry fruit, tart oak, again nuts, it is again creamy-sweet mild, medium-long

    • Nose
      Sherry, ginger, candied lemons and oranges. Marzipan and a little vanilla. Wet earth, a hint of menthol.
    • Taste
      Sweet, spicy. Dried fruits, hazelnut, dark chocolate with chili. Orange candy. Dry, medium long.

    A great Arran from an Oloroso Sherry Cask. This filling is dominated by spicy oak tones, fruity berries and a very pleasant sharpness. Perfect, I like it very much!
    • Nose
      First only discreet sherry aroma is perceptible, then immediately intesive cherries. The 50% alcohol content is also immediately noticeable, it tickles and bizzles in the nose. Slowly sherry aromas unfold, dark berries blend with a fine orange aroma. The nose is now wonderfully fruity, a subtle leather touch and a touch of espresso are added. Slowly the Arran runs back into the glass in tough streaks. Everything fits perfectly, now the Arran is drunk.
    • Taste
      The first sip is immediately dominated by spicy oak notes, fruity Sherry comes from the spicy oak. Slightly tart and bitter, the oak exudes a chubby mouthfeel, with a slight pungency. A pinch of salt and a dash of pepper give off a very pleasant spiciness and sharpness for a long time. A hint of dark chocolate harmonizes perfectly with the spicy oak and sharpness.
    • Finish
      The taste still exudes this pleasant wooden sharpness before the finish begins with a fine nut flavor. Again, a touch of dark chocolate with a dash of espresso present. Spicy wood becomes agreeably bitter and tart, fruity berries briefly flash. Despite 50% alcohol content, I have dispensed with the addition of water when pressing, which is now positively noticeable in the finish. The finish is very intense and strong. A slightly bitter walnut note ends the long finish.
