    COLOR: dark gold (without dye)

    - good whisky with a very strong edgy
    character
    - nothing for beginners / beginners (at the price anyway
    unlikely....)
    - it really packs a punch and lasts a long time
    - In my opinion, it doesn't come close to the taste
    Bunna 18 y. ran
    - at that time 70€ already borderline, today with 140€ clearly
    too expensive
    • Nose
      fruity, slightly alcoholic sharpness, has a very special sweetish flavor reminiscent of rum, almond (almond liqueur like Amaretto), fresh oak
    • Taste
      Elegant but powerful attack, getting stronger in the mouth, very voluminous, despite the 46% it burns the lips a little, lots of oak and spice, bitter almonds
    • Finish
      medium length spicy finish ;
      long, slightly burning (especially on the lips) strong aftertaste

    A beautifully balanced sherry nose with vanilla and creme brûlée with a little anise.
    Alcohol integrated quite well, but also a bit impetuous. Chubby sweet, gentle oriental spices. Herber hickory is nowhere to be found.
    Nice long, mild and sweet spice finish.
    A good whisky at a moderate price. A everyday dram.

  4. Bowmore Axel scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    Sweet smell of spices, beautiful woody notes, soothing.

    Very sweet on the palate, something like brown sugar candy, a little bitterness that reminds of coffee and harmonizes well with the sweetness. A hint of herbs and raisins.

    The finish is very nice long. Slightly peppery, delicately salty and bitter - sweet. Long salty tingling remains in the mouth.

    That's his money value. There are 88 points from me.

    A very special and very good Bunna;
    [Color] amber;
    • Nose
      Raisins, a lot of sherry, leather, spices, salt, spicy oak;
    • Taste
      restrained; oily onset, oranges, old sherry, tart, bitter almonds, spices, oak, maritime (salt), little sweetness, complex;
    • Finish
      medium long, oily finish, oak, very nutty finish;

    • Nose
      Great ex-bourbon fruitiness. very light and fresh with exotic notes. behind it a little bit of iodine and a tart herbaceous note that might give you a hint of smoke
    • Taste
      very sweet and oily, it runs on the tongue almost like syrup. the longer it stays in the mouth, the stronger the herbs and wood influences become. Here comes the well-known iodine again
    • Finish
      courage something rest sweet and neatly adverbing, he says goodbye. He fills the whole mouth and is marvelous maritime.
      nice malt!

    Is already a stable good thing Bunna, a touch seems unbalanced and sounds in the notes even better than he seems, would like to see with 3-4y more.
    • Nose
      The nose is already clear to recognize Bunna, he comes rather dry, with maritime salt, washed up wood, autumn leaves, forest soil, dry berry bushes, burnt brown sugar, some bitter chocolate in a rasp, but everything is quite young, not now old and sublime, leatherback, rough
    • Taste
      Here, too, quite dry directly, autumn leaves, some coffee beans, salt, tannins, dark chocolate already a bit expired, burnt brown sugar, blood orange, grapefruit peel, some herbal honey, apple peel and seeds
    • Finish
      Dry, salty, forest soil, tannins, dark, rough malt, some pepper too, curry, medium-long

    Delicious? Yes! A bunna? Unmistakable!
    But nothing special. Different but not better than the standard 12er

    I really liked this profile Bourbon / Single Malt. This whisky is drunk like whey, we want more. By cons, small flat, I can not find the distillate Bunna.
    • Nose
      To the blind I could have bet on a bourbon with its sugar, its honey and its vanilla in want it here. Going further we find notes of frangipane, almond and milk cereals. We will not miss the dark red fruits either.
    • Taste
      Alcohol perfectly integrated, a controlled reduction, which is often the case at Wemyss. We are on chocolate, spicy and woody notes. There is still sugar and dark fruit.
    • Finish
      Average length on vanilla, woody accompanied by light spices and a veil of bitterness very pleasant. Cocoa is always present.

    Somehow unbalanced. The barrel is there, but the typical Bunnach character is missing. Despite drinking strength bites something sharp in the nose. The taste is pretty flat ....

    A beautiful Bunna but unspectacular. The palate and the finish are beyond expectations ...
    • Nose
      Typical Bunna: light maritime impact, damp wood, a bit earthy. A touch of dark fruits and brown sugar.
    • Taste
      Dark fruits, subtle coffee and a bit of marzipan. Dry.
    • Finish
      Medium.

    Dusty malt, wax, then "malt syrup". Some fruit. On the palate, frank attack, some fruits and spices. Not very legible except that for me. Little lack of roundness. Not bad at all far from it, but 24h after having tasted this dram, at the time when I write these few lines, I already have a vague memory of it.

    Enthusiasm 3/5

    Like every other Bunna I've had in my glass, this one tastes good too, but it does not break any trees
    • Nose
      Marzipan, spicy-sweet, hard honey in the glass, wet rope, brown sugar, gets a bit earthy, then comes through dry orange
    • Taste
      balanced with a slight tendency towards spicy, with honey melon and again orange, orange peel
    • Finish
      nice round but also quite short, mild pepper and some yellow curry spice

  18. pianoman scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
      Pleasantly fresh. Orange, apple pie, frosting, yellow raisins. Coniferous forest in the fog. Moss, damp earth. Freshly sawn light wood.
    • Taste
      Sweet bright grapes, apples, almonds and honey. Fruity dessert wine. Milk chocolate. A trace of earth. Medium.

  19. Einfach_Supi scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

    First of all, it is a typical Bunnahabhain, very much Brennereicharakter

    Color: Beautiful amber with reflections

    Nose: orange, orange peel, Bunna-typical rubber glove, spicy sauce, honey-infused kumquats, star fruit, physalis dipped in milk chocolate, quinine, some dusty and slightly sweaty people on the North Sea beach.

    Mouth: Strong onset, chili, now the fruits are bitter, some baked, hearty, then candied nuts again, firm sweet structure, on which one likes to chew long, then the finish Bitterschoki, already long melting off.

    This whisky lives through the class of basic whisky, no sherry bomb, more of a subtle delicacy. If you liked the Spring Bunna of Kirsch, you will love this Wemyss as well. I give here once very good 86 points with potential upwards.
