Aroma: open, calm, immediately varied tones of wood - old lacquered furniture, sawdust, wood dust, walnut husks and kernels, bark, very light notes of burnt wood and ash, malt, plum jam with light touches.
Taste: dense, caramel sweetness, porter, a lot of spices and tannins of oak, walnut and astringent partitions, sweet orange liquor, spicy zest from it.
Finish: medium length, the same pleasant nut-oak astringency as in the taste, zest, prunes, bittersweet, oily.
Bottom line: an unusual finish, not at all like the usual wine barrels, walnuts are met at all stages and very energetic. I liked it, it turned out to successfully cut young spirits, but of course I’ll put the base 10 a notch.
