all the goodies that define "good old" Macallan are present in this bottling, yet as a result of the full proof - 57% ABV - get a tremendous boost.
On the 100 point scale, I rate this whisky as follows:
nose - deep and intense, with a mix of mainly prune, tobacco, raisins and cocoa - 24 points
taste - intense on arrival, smooth and with an oily mouthfeel, medium sweet with all the aromas that were present on the nose - 25 points
finish - very long and rewarding - 25 points
complexity and balance - reasonably complex; the aroma's have kind of melted together and merely as a result of this, the balance has simply reached absolute perfection - 23 points (the average of 25 for balance and 21 for complexity).
