Beautiful delicate nose. Initially sweet apples and overripe pear. A little later also subtle hints of red fruit appear. I suspect it to be a combination of refill sherry cask(s) and hogshead(s) both are present. The whole is very mature and well balanced.
Taste is strong, flavorfull but also smooth and quite complex. Initially there is not much fruitiness but quite a lot of smokiness in a charred oak kind of way. Which is nice. In time more of the sherry influences come through. Pleasant on the palate.
Finish is short to medium. A creamy mouthfeel continues and is accompanied with pleasant spices such as licorice.
Not immensely exciting but very good. A real summer dram.
