A drunk too alcoholic opening but with time gives the best of itself. A nose and a really nice ending. On the palate there is this little something that clearly reduces his note and pleasure.
    • Nose
A very fruity nose, there is syrup to see fruit yoghurt. There is also flower honey and a pastry side on the biscuit or cake. A really nice nose.
    • Taste
At the opening a powerful hair. Over time, this power disappears little by little to arrive at a rather well integrated set. The mouth remains overall very dry all the same on the fruity and the bitterness of the green wood. There is also this vegetal side that I can not define clearly.
    • Finish
A medium-length finish on the wood and its spices. There is also a hint of vanilla and dark chocolate. Some remnants of fruit are coming back at times.

Very pleasant. Tasted blind. Enthusiasm 4/5 Whisky n ° 1613
    • Nose
A little in the style "irish" initially, it gains in depth: we are in Scotland. Duo wax / honey that is not unlike Clynelish, but with an elegance and a flowery side extremely pleasant.
    • Taste
Well fruity, rather velvety or sweet in the mouth, it is quite beefy in alcohol.
    • Finish
      Persistent fruits and vanilla.

    • Nose
Heavy on Penang's white nutmeg water, as I always find it with Glenburgie. Fresh cut grass, and baked fruits. Feels very 'green' and tropical.
    • Taste
Malty arrival, and quite 'Glenburgie' I would say. Pleasant and easy going, with hints of grass and fruits.
    • Finish
Fresh and lively, mouth-watering. Orange peel and lemonade.

Very nice, strong and fruity whisky. I can imagine the comparisons with a Clynelish. Really a good and enjoyable.
    • Nose
      88 88
Fruity, full 'nose', strong alcohol. Peach, tangerines, honey sweet. Some grassy too, hay. Later on some clear caramel sweetness.
    • Taste
      89 89
Strong, pepper, fruity and sweet. Peach, tropical fruits, some vanilla and honey.
    • Finish
      89 89
Still a lot of pepper, lot's of peach now, honey sweetness, still very full. Long fonish, fruits remain in the mouth for a long time.

my first glenburgie and archives dram. Both noted and will be bought when chances occur. Delicate and well balanced.
    • Nose
mild oak, fruity, sweet and malty. Bit "dusty" old leather sportsbag. Some vanilla.
    • Taste
spicy and woody, still vanilla. Tropical and citrus fruits.
    • Finish
      long! spicy an citrus remains.

Great. Fantastic nose. Tasted a sample on day seven of the US Blind Tasting Competition 2017. My guess was a Clynelish 19-yo @ 57%.
    • Nose
Peach, mandarin, nuts, ripe banana, honey, hay, figs, yellow & green apples, wood chips
    • Taste
Honey, hay, ripe red & yellow fruit, oak
    • Finish
Medium long, slightly bitter and slightly drying, Mandarin, wood, malty

This really was a lovely whisky and I enjoyed drinking it, especially because it was on my bucket list, but it was a little bit generic. There just wasn’t anything special to it that would really make me want to seek one out.

    • Nose
Light wood. Pencil shavings. Citrus oils. Marmalade. Hay. Candied fruits. Nutmeg. Some green herbs.
    • Taste
Stronger than anticipated. Bit of a sharp bitterness at first and then juicy fruits, woody vanilla and a slight coppery taste, then a burst of woodspice.
    • Finish
Long. Woodspice continues, along with pears, bitter wood tannins and maybe some honey-lemon cough drops.

Proper stuff with a nice mouthfeel and decent fruitiness. The dryness keeps it from scoring even higher.
    • Nose
Quite creamy, but also slightly dusty, with oak and burlap, whilst also having a fresh and fruitier side. Stewed apples, sweet barley, pear skins.
    • Taste
Again, lovely creamy stuff, waxy. A fruity base of grape fruit and pears, accompanied by oak and ginger. Some other spices as well, like white pepper. Somewhat dry, bitter and chalky.
    • Finish
Medium to long, drying. Finally a tad grassy, with whispers of green fruit.

Rot fruit, coconut, mandarin ... very complex Taste has some liquorice? And more coconut Finish has something of speculaas? Very interesting all

  17. Andytka3 scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

N- Malt extract, oil, malt barn, muddy with sort of white liquorice. Soft citrus vanilla from soft wood. As well chocolate, milo, whiff of candy in the back, green tea with more citrus honey arriving late. Highly evolving.P- Good bites from fragrant fine active wood, paper hue mouth coating, nutmeg, vanilla and boiled berries, elegantly light, get candy sweet overtimes.

F- Medium-long, light texture with spicy ginger that evoke the trace of muddiness and earthiness from the soft oak. Is more than excellent, but a step short from exceptional.

    • Nose
Bounty bar, apples and pears, peach melba, some lemon balm and some floral notes.
    • Taste
Sugar sweet with some strong flavours , vanilla extract, sherbet fountain, apple pie and custard and citrus fruits.
    • Finish
A long finish with vanilla and custard cream biscuits.

Thanks for the free sample Whiskybase!
    • Nose
Vanilla pudding, sweet lime, peach, marzipan, dough, banana, pear and gold kiwi. Later more banana and the dough note keeps increasing.
      Fresher with water: Apple.
    • Taste
Vanilla pudding, apple, apricot, vanilla, lime candy, caramel and a floral touch. With water it gets a bit creamier, but there's also some smoke from fireworks.
    • Finish
Pear, vanilla pudding, banana, cocoa, honey and something vegetal. In the end something musty like old chestnuts.
