Hmmm ... not bad, but not really good. Only water makes the malt interesting for me.
    • Nose
Pretty tough start. The alcohol jumps one out of the glass. In addition, one notices the red wine barrel, but unfortunately also the youth. Pretty one-dimensional in the nose. A little soap is there too. With water, the malt drifts into a musty touch, which I unfortunately do not like so much here.
    • Taste
Here, the alcohol is quite well involved and builds up slowly. But then it gets brute. I hardly taste anything else.
Much more harmonious with water. The mildew from the nose is gone and the red wine comes back.
    • Finish
In the finish is already tidy for eight years woody. Unfortunately, it is quite short.
With Wass the departure becomes more interesting. It comes dry fruits and dates.

Too bad the aromas are nice but it's stiff! Enthusiasm 2/5
    Whisky n ° 1444
    • Nose
Young and too direct, he rounded a little with the opening. Vanilla and cereals. Raspberries. With a little water, it is more fragrant but alcohol is still embarrassing.
    • Taste
We find this combination of aromas in the mouth. It's a little too powerful. The addition of water brings a note of acidity.
    • Finish
Pretty impressive on sweet red fruits, but it's still violent.

      G: Sweet, chocolate, low alcohol
    • Taste
N: no alcohol, cocoa, dark chocolate, the aromas degrade over time
    • Finish
A: long, low alcohol, the chocolate is slowing down

Well ... pretty grotesque and extreme drink. The distillery character was practically completely eliminated by the shyraz cask.
    • Nose
Grapes, wine and vinegar. Sugar, acid and alcohol. Next to strawberries and orange peel.
    • Taste
In the begining honeyed grapes, waxy green apple peel, Metaxa. Then the acids and tannins will come.
    • Finish
Medium length, sour and acidic, then fruity

Does not need water for me. Interestingly, I can not really classify. Some young but beautiful fruit elements here. For Bruichladdich fans, the MP4 series is worth a try. Gives an exciting insight into the barrel influence on young laddies.
    • Nose
Strawberries, earthy notes, raspberries, vinous tone
    • Taste
sweet, fruity, red groats, hot young?
    • Finish
medium, sweet, milk chocolate, not bitter

Sweet and sharp fruits dominate the nose (a mixture of ripe strawberries, tart gooseberries, and citrus fruits). The floral spirit is lurking in the background with an edge that gives away its youth. A drop of water helped tame some of the edginess and accentuated the sweeter fruits. Very similar profile on the palate, with some peppery chilli and sharp fruits alongside hint of fiery/young spirit. Medium-length finish with the wine notes very prominent.

Given that the LaddieMP4s are single-cask spirits, I don't expect much complexity. Let's see what happens.

    Color: Deep gold.

Without water:Nose: Quite strong. Surprisingly little alcohol, but indeed some hints of a cask. A bit of sourness is trying to show up but is immediately cut down by the smell of sweet grapes. It reminds me of the sweet red wine which always makes my head hurt after a while. I'll try to not make this have too much influence on this dram's rating.Taste: *In your face*. Immediately mouth-watering, and it won't stop. Grapes and some nuttiness, followed by green apples.Finish: Disappointingly short, gone quick; chewing gum and glue. Maybe just because my tongue has not fully recovered from the strong taste yet? Let's add some water. With water:Nose: Almost no changes (meaning: nothing happens), but with more mildness and less sourness of the *pure spirit*.Taste: Nuttiness and apples are dominating now, together with the cask which was not strong enough to show up before. Behind that there's a small touch of licorice, continuing well into the finish.Finish: Still that glue, this time without chewing gum, but with additional sour Apple rings. Gets dry rather soon.
Verdict: Too boring, too dry, too unpleasant. Somehow I'm not looking forward to the other two casks anymore.
