  1. Max70 scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

Unfortunately, tasted after its brother Aultmore 25 Foggie Moss, so little sensation of "I would like to be...." for it. A good whisky but not so remarkable
    • Nose
      81 81
Sweetness in background, leather and tobacco can be clearly identified
    • Taste
      80 80
Cinnamon, dark chocolate and almonds. 46% alchool helps sustaining the body that otherwise would a little bit too "plain"
    • Finish
      81 81
Wood and spices, not so long but enough pleasant

    • Nose
      Spices, lemongrass, herbs
    • Taste
      Spices, oak, citrus, vanilla
    • Finish
      Medium and dry

The extremely different 12s, spices and herbs dominate in the first nose - distillery character well felt.
      Upper league of 12-year-olds.

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

Delicious easy drinking Speysider, which, however, lacks a little bit of draft, which is still not quite 0815. A good standard.
    • Nose
In the nose classic pear, apples, rather green, not juicy sweet, slightly lime, malty, fresh, light citrus note.
    • Taste
Juicy in the mouth, pear, some citrus, sweetish with a bitter finish
    • Finish
warm, some pepper, quite dry, some sweetness in the background and some light herbaceous notes. Very saliva-stimulating.

The color (light white wine), suggests little active barrels and therefore a lot Brennereicharakter.

    Nose:
After pouring the full broadside citrus fruits (lemon and lime) and hay. Mown grass that has been lying on the meadow for two weeks, some freshly de-escaped vanilla.
Breathing does not really bring much more flavor. Only a scent like that of Angostura Bitter peels off the citrus after a few minutes.
Overall, a nose that is quite nice, but certainly not remembered.

    Mouth:
Citrus fruit, hay, very little vanilla, spicy oak, and after about 20 seconds in the mouth there is nothing left. The viscosity reveals that it is not water, but taste? Very, very flat.

    Finish:
Unfortunately, taste comes here again. In the mouth remains a bitter, metallic feeling. And that unfortunately stays longer.

Tasty is different, this Aultmore would have rather deterred me from the whisky. The best thing about this Aultmore is the quality and beautifully designed glass bottle, as hard as that sounds. Is for me as deeply in the course as the old law 10yo

Character: A light, almost pale bottling, which is dominated by a discordant, bitter oak flavor. Something for friends of herbal and bitter with a penchant for bitter wood taste.
Rating: I do not have to drink alcohol for that. Good that that was not my first single malt. I suppose I would not have really fancy a second afterwards. On the other hand, however, quite drinkable and without any junk, there are still 75 points favorably.
    • Nose
Basic flavors: citrus fruits, vanilla, fruits, cereals, smoke, grass, herbs
Description: Right from the start, fresh citrus notes blow into your nose. A basket of oranges and limes meets green apples, vanilla and light cereal flavors. A slightly smoky impression hangs over this mixture. However, no typical peat smoke. Grassy notes and herbs are added. Completely pleasing. From the profile, I would have typed blindly on a Highlander.
    • Taste
Basic flavors: cereal, oak, nut, spice
Description: Clear and spicy, the drop hits the tip of the tongue. Fruit hardly ever takes place. A tart, nutty grain and oak flavor floods the oral cavity. For a moment, the oak flavor bites slightly prickling into the tongue. In the transition to the finish, it is then much bitter. The overall picture is disappointingly one-dimensional. Unfortunately, the few other flavor notes are totally superimposed by the inharmonious, bitter oak.
    • Finish
Basic flavors: malt, oak, walnut, vanilla
Description: The finish is relatively short. In this case, but no real loss, because over some malt and bitter oak juice addition, the finish has not much to offer. With a little benevolence you can recognize subtle traces of nuts and vanilla.

Very drinkable, although strong wood influence gives a slightly bitter aftertaste. Would strongly recommend the 18 instead.

For the price a very balanced whisky.
    • Nose
In the beginning, intense smell of essential oils that quickly turn into fruit. Apple and citrus predominate.
    • Taste
      Very oaky.
    • Finish
      Long and dry.

    • Nose
    • Finish
F: erbaceo e maltoso, leggermente zuccherino e limonoso.
