Whisky Reviews for Knockando 2003
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 81.40 points
- Solid whisky, much better than I remembered, for under 30 € really delicious, with 12 years, vintage and over 40% actually a real bargain, you can only recommend for the price-conscious beginner bar.
Vanilla, cereals, some lemon, some hazelnut - pleasant, clear, direct, nice Bourbon barrel profile
fuller and sweeter than expected, creamy, nut nougat cream, fudge, a bit of grainy dryness is still coming through, but on the whole it makes you think of sherry keg, even some oak comes, bitter / spicy
medium, the nut nougat cream is almost in sugar beet syrup / molasses, bittersweet, then woody-dry
- Unfortunately, this discount note hovers over everything. Otherwise a simply knitted Speysider and not a good advertisement for Knockando.
sweet vanilla, overall grassy with floral accents, delicately spicy, nutmeg, medium-strength caramel components, minimal sherry, minimal smoke, an artificial note is always present, one is reminded of discount whisky, apple, pear, quince, hints of oak, light citrus elements a la orange and kumquat
soft, vanilla, nutmeg, white oak, slightly bitter caramel, chocolatey, good spicy, some malt
dry, fine flavor, caramel, malt
