Only remains to complain that the here on drinking strength was diluted. I would have liked to try this cask even cask strength and let myself the scope. But what remains is a really delicious Laphroaig at a fair price
Unmistakably a Laphroaig. Slightly medical smoke, light notes of zest and a lot of sweet vanilla. Behind it a bit more peaty, harsher notes and much of what I have learned to love in the meantime - fresh sea air, sazige notes and something that reminds me of the fresh kelp from the Japanese favorite restaurant.
Does he really only 46.0% Vol? No matter - on the tongue you do not notice him. Not because he has a fulminant-violent start, no. Instead, the malt is simply wonderfully present and full-bodied. Wild peat smoke, medical approaches - which are now lower than expected. Sweet and creamy vanilla notes, lots of peated barley.
Not surprisingly, the peat smoke dominates in the finish, paired with sweetish malt notes and minimal citrus notes. The smoke literally attaches itself to the palate and does not want to give way any more, a very slight dryness remains in the mouth.
