  1. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Rum whiskys and I will not be friends anymore. It is my own fault if I still try it again and again. This varies depending on the dilution between sprittig / bäh and arbitrary, and the positive aspects of the previous notes I can not find unfortunately, especially those of Oktobull (the enthusiastic dad of the samples - I'm really sorry :-(). So probably just incompatibility and a mistake on my part, I do not want to complain about the price.
    • Nose
undiluted: artificially banana (cheap banana fondant) with glue and sawdust, very sprittig, after 15 minutes it's a bit milder, but still calls for water, but that brings no points, the fuel disappears, the sawdust is stronger, banana weaker, Glue dried, some white pepper, nothing else ... to the next drop of water he is already drowned :-(
    • Taste
A drop of pouring from the finger nibbled - bäh, artificial, plastic, solvents ... and even at the first real sip it starts. There is sugar, or cane sugar, molasses, pepper, but also a disgusting-artificial touch, as if I had not washed my hands properly after workshop / painting work. And of course he is really hot. With neat water it will be caramel-creamy-milk chocolate with a little nut and white pepper.
    • Finish
undiluted: long, (too) hot and bitter, pepper-bitter with a hint of coffee diluted: Nutella with white pepper

This is the first malt with a rum barrel full ripeness I've ever had in the jar and is now by far the best malt ever to have seen a rum barrel. That's how I imagine a whisky from a rum barrel. The most finishes that I know seem to be over set or go completely under. This is absolutely not the case here.
He is incredibly delicious. Pure and / or with water.
    • Nose
a slightly dark sweetness of raisins and fermented fruits rises in the nose; Marzipan and a hint of glue; Roses and violets; Brown sugar; then come these dominoes, which are always available at Christmas time; with a little time, the rum-character comes through: sweet and dark-fruity, as I imagine rum just like that; then come a few spices such as nutmeg, clove and pepper; the alcohol is very well integrated; it gets tighter with water and the floral notes become more dominant
    • Taste
syrupy; nice fruity sweet with brown sugar and oak; In addition, nuts, raisins and again marzipan come, a slight pepper note sets in with time; the alcohol is just right with water it gets very creamy and silky; Light wood and freshly ground spices are added; Citrus flavors are there and it gets dry easily
    • Finish
medium to long; fermented fruits and a slight bitterness; followed by a great, intense sweetness; this works rather artificial or very very rum-like; this sweet completes the finish beautifully; the throat remains in the throat for a very long time; slightly dry on the palate with water comes slightly spicy wood and this rum-typical sweetness is back

This is such a classic whisky that you can drink while watching TV. The flavors come across well, if not overly complex. By Rumfass brings it then a little variety in pure.

Sweet and slightly sour, molasses, yellow overripe fruits, exotic, grated coconut, vanilla, which is also very creamy, has nothing unpleasant for me
    • Taste
      87 87
creamy, sweet, here also the influence of the rum clearly there, light acidity, molasses, honey, also clear vanilla, biscuit dough, not quite as fruity as in the nose, then the second sip then the fruit there, more intense than the first sip, have but also had more in the mouth, nice, good to drink, not super complex, but delicious
    • Finish
      86 86
aftertaste, grapefruit, as if you were chewing something on the orange inner wall, slightly nutty. medium

The nose is great. The alcohol is very well integrated ... but with each sip a little boring ... still delicious

  9. Einfach_Supi scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

Smells and tastes of rum, with raisins and nuts and some Schoki = Ritter Sport Rum Grape Nut.However, the alcohol stands out. Since I give the same time a 3ml ice cube ... cools just right .... I'll praise it for my idea
In the nose still fine marzipan and these small freeze-dried pieces of orange peel. Well, and bold the rhum. In the mouth with some water very mild, oily, Schoki, Rumrosinen. Warm finish, now with Bitterschoki.
Conclusion: Who likes rum, is right here, who likes whisky, probably takes better to other drinks. He is heavy and full of flavors and the character of Tullibardine is still to be guessed. Unusual
