Ahh, Clynelish. This particular bottle is not far off the OB 14. The OB 14 is quite good but this just ratchets up the game to the next level

A flawless Clynelish. If you like this profile, this is a no-brainer.
    • Nose
An good amount of candle wax and quite floral. The wax is balanced by a fair bit of fruit (tangerine, ripe red apple, lemon peel). Honey and coconut too, with some wood shavings.
    • Taste
Mouthfeel is not as coating or creamy as I like it, still pretty good though, and the flavours are all there. Some white pepper and ginger first, but then fruit and sweetness. Fudge, white grapes, honey, pickled lemon. Slightly tannic and drying. Love it. Right up my alley.
    • Finish
      Sweet, waxy and long.

Great Clynelish with a great mouthfeel!
    • Nose
Waxy, vanilla, slightly mineral, citrus notes, a noticeable bourbon note, orange peel, then a little dry wood, then more and more yellow fruits come to light
    • Taste
Pleasant sweet start, creamy sweet, freshly squeezed orange juice, oily, pleasant oak spice, vanilla, nice thick texture
    • Finish
Yellow slightly bitter orange peel, vanilla, oak spice, nice oily finish

Great cask selection by Adelphi. I've had lots of nice 1995-1997 Clynelishes on bourbon but for me this one stands out. The flowery notes on the nose go really well with the wax and fruit.
    • Nose
Heather flowers and wax straight up. Quite fruity with tangerine, ripe pears and apple, a pinch of salt and minerals. Exceptional nose
    • Taste
Begins creamy with waxes and sweet fruit, mostly peach and pears, and then becomes drying with green tea. The mineral touch is also there. Then it gets more fruity again.
    • Finish
Not the longest but it becomes a bit dryer and ends with sweet fruits, a llight tartness from citrus, and wax.

Nose: Soft floral waxiness. Instantly Clynelish. Lemon cakes and ice cream with a gentle coastal breeziness. Slight medicinal tang joins in the overall profile

Mouth: Fantastic medium level arrival with lemons and now berries swirling as a coastal entity. Maybe a touch too thin to be truly mind blowing but still a phenomenal palateFinish: Long. Very long with a tiny amount of smoke, somewhat drying and reminiscent of some of the Highland Parks from Cadenheads. A wonderful desert whisky for those that appreciate robust and austere malts. Almost a Lowland tribute from Sutherland? Truly fantastic.
