And then there is also the 20 Year Old Old Perth. I will not make another guess as to its components, for the sympathetic but strong headed Kenny Mackay will do as he pleases, in my experience.
Fantastic nose on dark fruit, tobacco leaves, Pink Lady apples, autumn leaves and freshly polished leather. Some heather and mandarin, dark chocolate and cinnamon. Surely a sherry cask went into the mix. This is very promising.
Creamy and spicy, very warm on chili pepper, paprika and caramelized ginger. The ABV is king! Very sturdy arrival. Again mandarin, joined by some Seville oranges, hazelnuts and herbal tea. Chewing tobacco and a bitterness as if from pink grapefruit. One single drop of rancio. Very, very good.
The finish is long, warm, drying and zesty at the same time.
Impressive! With exclamation point. Can still be found for around 100 EUR. Recommended!
