The TEN has been a bit up and down between batches through the years.
Seems to be true what people say, that it's on the up at the moment.
At least this 1 liter bottle turned out to be sweeter and much more lively than I remember.
This is good. I wouldn't mind sipping this for a whole night... think I'll go and fill up my glass and do just that.

Smoke and mellow rounded Islay peat.
Sweet fruity undertone of peach and melon.
Very pleasant combo, reminding of Parma and Cantaloupe.
A little seashore and a little dusty wooden cupboard.
Nothing brutal about it, it's quite civilized and welcoming.
    • Taste
      88 88
Smoked meat, rubber. Seasalt and oil.
Fruit and sweetness comes along nicely.
Midway there's a little citrus appearing, while there is a nice firm build up of pepper.
    • Finish
      90 90
Smoke is dominant and remains very long.
Good lenght to a warming spice.
And I love how the sweetness comes and goes in waves.

    (Lot 65643, bottled 05/05/2016)

Nose: Some dry wood, smoke, peat, oysters, old seaside boathouse, dried apple and pear, a little citrus, iodine, dried seaweed (89p).

Taste: Dry, peat, smoke and ashes in the arrival. Slight hint of sweetness on the mid palate and in the finish. The finish is otherwise nice and warming with just a touch of pepper. Takes water quite well; the nose opens up more and the taste becomes both a little sweeter and more peppery. Dry in a “sweet way” and quite lovely to drink (88p).

    Total score: 88 points.
