- Oh man this is lovely stuff. Give it some time after opening and it really rewards. Think smoked/chargrilled, almost incensed citrus peels and tropical fruits (especially peach) laced with Jasmine essence, combined with a melange of dried/smoked spices and herbs (like tea leaves). It reminds me of a mango-infused green tea, only earthier. Of course there's more to it than that (fudge-like vanilla, waxy honey, nut oils and faint maritime/umami character), but that's the overriding impression I get from this whisky.
- This is a bottle to sit on. Yes, it doesn't linger enough but what is presented is so satisfying.
sharp bourbon sting; almost going for that coastal/briny tang - or am I imagining things? Nothing dry about this nose, it has quite a lot of honeyish sweetness in there (albeit that is a characteristic of taste)
wow, what a lovely 47% welcome. Sweet and with a fruity sea of tastes underneath
short->medium; where did you go? that lovely taste ebbs away too quickly - Please come back!
