Well, it's okay. The nose is actually nice if you give it time and indulgence. But I'm afraid that's it. So many better things to buy at 100€ today.
    • Nose
Not much happening, fresh grapes and undefined yellow fruits. Evolves and gets better with raisins, orange juice, cut grass. There's a little rubber and solventy touches but on the whole it's quite nice.
    • Taste
Not much interest really, malty and vaguely fruity but feels kind of void, slightly vinous, slightly bitter. Ideas of Kirsch ? Alcohol could be better integrated.
    • Finish
Malty, maybe a bit citrusy, but quite poor honestly.

  2. Sandman scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

Blind tasted, during the trial Olympics 2017
    • Nose
Chocolate, raisins, figs, orange, sea salt, floral honey, maggi herbs and perfume.
    • Taste
Orange, chocolate, raisins, apricot, little salty, toasted bread, banana and hint of coffee.
    • Finish
Medium, greasy, lemon zest, oak and coffee.

Tasted it blind during PO2017 (may 2017)

The nose is the best part for me, taste is too sharp.
    • Nose
Vanilla, honey, chocolate, citric notes, apples, some floral perfumy notes, nectarine and spices
    • Taste
      Sharp, vanilla, fruity, pear, banana
    • Finish
Medium length, becomes what dry, fruity, peach, apples, some coffee

  8. KayMeertens scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Rather dirty caramel. Apple juice, malt, vanilla and minerals. Later mocha and strawberry. More malty, even bread-like, when adding water.
    • Taste
Caramel, apple, malt and a bit of cookie.
    • Finish
      Caramel, apple and malt.

Tasted this blind. They must have used a bad sherry cask for this, messed up this whisky as it's all sulfur for me. The nose saves it a bit point wise after being in the glass an hour or so. If it had't it would have got about 65 points. Worst Tomatin I've ever tasted. This cask is one to forget.
    • Nose
Sherry notes. The main sherry note is not the right one: sulfur. Other sherry notes I can find are leather, raisins and milk chocolate. Besides this there's raspberries, honey, floral notes, vanilla. Kind of sharp (solvent). After being in the glass for a while more fruity notes develop and the sulfur moves to the background a little.
    • Taste
Sulfur. Heaps of it. Blegh. Sharp, bitter, sour. When a bit longer in the glass notes of yellow and red fruits come through. This doesn't save this whisky though.
    • Finish
Black pepper, moldy, salty. Still a lot of sulfur. Finish is short.
