On the nose, a bit of oily smoke and various citrus fruits, all moderately spicy
In the mouth, we are more on the peat here, a bold, oily side, a little dirt like the impression that it is not filtered, then citrus on macerated lemons, stronger in the mouth and more prominent.
In the final, we have the same flavors but a rough side appears, it lacks a little finishing level.
An interesting but young dram, with all the peat ingredients, a little more subtle fruit but also a lack of flavors in the empty glass.

N: white wine vinegar, agave, crisp and clean. Mezcal like.

P: Apple skin, smoke, light, crisp. Very distillate driven

F: smoke, a little tar, acidic, sweet vanilla. Finish is the best part.

It’s fine, but again - many do it better (in my opinion). Lacks a personality.

    typical new-style whisky - I lack depth
    • Nose
first a little bit of sulfur, then apples, smoked honey, nougat, nuts
    • Taste
sweet baked apples with Toffifeefüllung, honey, hot on the tongue
    • Finish
      very short and alcoholic

    • Nose
First comes a beautiful honey scent accompanied by caramel, followed by a fine sweet apple cake to mother's style.
    • Taste
Very sweet after nougat and caramel but not disturbing
    • Finish
Medium long and again sweet honey very balanced and round. enjoyable

Fairly straightforward whisky without any frills, but quite nice. Around 55 to 65 EUR, which is not cheap, but not overly expensive either. And it looks great. Thanks for the sample, Pat.
    • Nose
While the smoke is unmistakable, it remains clearly Tomatin, for it is quite fruity on the nose. Peach, mango, oranges, apricots… to name but a few. Loads of honey as well. Something that reminds me of candy sugar and nougat. Hazel nuts. Yes, this is quite pleasant.
    • Taste
Lovely oily and again quite fruity. It dances on the palate, I must say. The peat is now more prominent and delivers a mild smoke development that I quite like.
    • Finish
The finish is rather short on more of the same.

  9. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I like it, nice turned off, 'a nice dirty touch, by the oiliness very tasty, you can suck on it for a long time. For ~ 55 € neat.
    • Nose
rather intense, honey (or mead - seems slightly fermented), green apple, lime, eucalyptus / herbal sweets / cough syrup, marjoram, with something smoky-fleshy (streaky / old ham, but rather in the background)
    • Taste
very oily mouthfeel (I had, I believe, so with no whisky), sweet, a lot of caramel confectionery (possibly nougat, milk chocolate, but no dry cocoa feeling), in addition to earth, leather, a bit musty, a little wet cardboard (will probably the smoke effect, does not necessarily come across negatively, rather as an interesting kick)
    • Finish
caramel sticks to the palate, becomes cocoa and then a slightly bitter walnut note, even slightly burned, rather long

A whisky whose nose is relatively light, but which will open gradually. The mouth starts very well with these lemon notes, a little artificial, but ends more abruptly, with a shift to more spicy influences. In the end it delivers some of its smoke and notes of bacon that I love. (Whisky Passion).
    • Nose
There is a very slight smoke. Vanilla, caramel and some chocolate influences. From apple to sweet honey.
    • Taste
Lemon confectionery. There is peppery, caramelized vanilla, almost mocha. The smoke carries notes of smoked meat. Peppery spices, fresh chilli. Coffee flan. Here the sherry casks are rather noticeable. Chocolate. There is something deeply astringent that bothers me a little and it is coupled with a certain youthfulness.
    • Finish
The smoke here is more frank, bacon. Caramel shares a long-lasting finish with a good dose of pepper spice. The bitterness is gaining power, it's a bit strong for my taste. The apple is a little blette.
