Whisky Reviews for Benromach 1969

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 91.17 points

  1. Dede scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

A whisky with all that one is entitled to expect from him having seen his age and his origin. Too bad the final is not quite up to the rest.
    • Nose
Typical of an old Speysider raised in sherry was. Cooked fruits (poached potatoes topped with dirty butterscotch), spices skillfully dosed (cinnamon tongs, a suspicion of pepper), cocoa, a touch of acidity. A lot of elegance and a beautiful balance that plunge you into a Victorian atmosphere.
    • Taste
Lively and spicy. Always cooked fruits, but much more peppers. Orange is also present, but in the form of marmalade rather than fresh fruit. The finish of mouth develops a tannic bitterness mastered.
    • Finish
Medium in length, it is slightly astringent. The spices and tannins are largely dominant, but it remains a suspicion of freshness until the end.
