Be carefull at first contact. The alcohol is very strong and volatile. A little acetone and glue before the sweetness kicks in. Cottoncandy, cooked corn and corn syrop. Some peach.
    • Taste
      80 80
Abricot and other yellow fruits. Also some coconut and perhaps in the distance pineapple. Good amount of vanilla. Still the wood is pretty dominant and gets dry.
    • Finish
      80 80
The heavy kick disappears and some spices remain with dry wood.

This is a powerful Tennessee Bourbon Whisk(e)y that might not appeal to everyone. It has the aspects of this type of whisky, but then under a magnifying glass. Give it some time and water, and it's probably better for most of the afficionados.
    • Nose
Rather spicy and woody. Juniper, new, wood, vanilla, lillies, stewed peach, maple syrup, nailpolish remover, maize. A hint of charcoalDon't be fooled by the notes that assume sweetness, it doesn't sweet overall as the spices and wood dominate. . Still it's very pleasant.
    • Taste
This grabs you by the balls and shows its powerful and spicy side. Peppercorns, juniper, pine needles, charred wood, charcoal. Behind that, there is rye bread, cherry, peach, vanilla and coconut.
    • Finish
Long, lingering, spicy and woody. Very US style. It's spicy and sweet on the one side, but then a bit drying from the oak. A hint of fruitiness lingers too.

In terms of fuel technology, this is actually not much different than a young single grain, but it has so much more flavor, especially oak, without the hard oak flavors of bourbon. Definitely very interesting and an exciting exotic.
    • Nose
Very sweet on the nose, vanilla, butter, popcorn, but also slightly pungent, the alcohol is quite strong. With a good shot of water, the alcohol is more subtle, mint is added, but in sum, the nose remains similar.
    • Taste
pure it is very hot, but then very sweet, bourbon-like, coconut, vanilla and a slightly sour oak note here. With water more pepper, more oak, and a certain bitterness, which draws into the finish.
    • Finish
The finish is then also very oaky, some pepper and very hot.

Nice to drink, I like it well. For me he has more of a sherry character
    • Nose
      BLIND TASTING
nice start right in the nose. Immediately fuller and more complex with many closely related flavors. The alcohol tingles in the nose and the viscosity is close to an alcohol of 50%. Vanilla, wild honey, herbs and dark fruits: figs, dates and raisins rise into the nose. Very nice Nosing with power and fullness. That is fun.
    • Taste
beautiful entrance on the tongue brings a full body. Caramel vanilla and ripe dried fruit, followed by raisins and then dark chocolate. A bit like the Rum Grape Nut Ritter Sport. Very pleasantly soft and not intrusive. The barrel is there, but holds back very much.
    • Finish
Something sweet with the figs and roses. Then he becomes astringent and brings really nice espresso. A few nuts mix under it

  8. The Macallan scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

N: sweet custard vanilla with fruit - peaches (reduced: more fruit - peaches)

P: full vanilla custard flavor with some fruit (peach)

    F: drying, fruity and spicy

C: well balanced but I won't buy a bottle of this stuff, nice to try this one.

Quite disappointment for a SC CS Bourbon from the eigtl. Top guys from MoS
    • Nose
Fresh corn, lots of alcohol at the beginning and also a lot after 15 minutes unfortunately, adhesive note, light apricot and vanilla as typical of Bourbons, much more unfortunately not
    • Taste
Even with a few drops of water still very alcoholic in the mouth, directly burning (and I like pure Cask Strength pure), typical superficial bourbon notes, vanilla, toffee, honey, glue, as well as spicy with black pepper, caraway and a little young oak chips
    • Finish
Honey, toffee, still alcoholic dryness and burning, in short

  10. Cubey666 scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

Tasted during a Malts of Scotland "Rollercoaster-tasting" October 2016

    nose: mais, new spirit, grain

taste: spicy and warm, orange zest fruitiness.

finish: how to say it... bit slimy.

with water it becomes quite alot better (84 points with water)
    • Nose
      78 78
    • Taste
      80 80
    • Finish
      81 81
