After a little over two years, what a beautiful Springbank, a great single cask.

    A superb Springbank - recommended.
    • Nose
The high alcohol content is very obvious ... be careful.

Sweet fresh and spirity at first nosing, with notes of white wine and yeast. Surprisingly lemony and zesty. In the background there is a whiff of smoke. A lovely nose.
    • Taste
Powerful, sweet, strong and delicate at first mouthfeel. Very spicy, peppery with chili and ginger. Sweet fudge, liquorice and citrus fruits. Very tasty and complex..
    • Finish
Long and spicy with a little bit vanilla and a zesty, bitter aftertaste.

  4. Segens scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

A very nice and complex Springbank and the first for me from a rum cask. Sure not the last :-)
    • Nose
Quite reserved where hay and chamomile are dominant and the tickling in the nose alcohol and its sour influence remind on apple.
    • Taste
Very fruity probably due to the rum cask. Very difficult to name fruits as the dram is quite dry and sweet at once. But if I would have to for sure banana
    • Finish
Long fruity and even a bit of smoke but also now the rum cask, finally! Very obvious now!

A great bottling! I like it better than some OA in a comparable age group.
    • Nose
Very mild and reserved at the beginning. Without water, sweet notes of fermented fruit dominate. Bananenmus. Red grapes. Wind breath over a flower meadow. It opens up wonderfully with water. The aromas become more intense and "denser".
    • Taste
The rum barrel provides a great fruit sweetness, which is distributed directly throughout the mouth. Pleasantly dry. Low key violet note. Is there even some peat to find? Incredibly full of taste that does not want to go away.
    • Finish
      Long, dry, fruity, warming.
