    Dear Balblair 1999

I really wanted to like you. I have been in love with the 1990 and 1991 editions and the 2000 was great too.
However, I can’t say the same about you. You’re ok, don’t get me wrong but you are just no my type. Don’t get bitter, this is already what kept me from sticking around...
    No hard feelings.

P- Solid with harmonized dried fruits and juicy oaks. Peppery, caramelized reduced orange, strawberry candy with fragrant oak rising. Coffee and butterscotch. (90/22)

F- Medium long, clean and crisp, perfum-y grassy and peppery. Echoing oak with hints of mocha and subtle tannin. (91/22)

B/B- 91/22 With regret, will not see much of this vintage releases in future.

Beautiful drinking whisky with the typical bourbon notes, with a strong toffee taste.

  6. HW74 scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

N: light, vanilla, yellow fruits T: easy to start, again fruity and vanilla. Little influence from the sherry barrel, much of the bourbon barrel Q: long, very long. fruity, stimulates the salivation enormously. A well-balanced, well matured whisky.
