- Springer10 - a very neat Campbeltown Malt!
Not very cheap - handicraft has its price!
[Color] white wine;
malty and sweet, slightly aromatic smoke, some oak;
strong spicy salty onset, noticeable oak spiciness, earthy (moss), oily, slightly bitter note;
long, warm finish; salty finale;
Smoldering wood. Lemon curd. Green melon. Vegetal whiff. Dusty peat. Distant mint de crème, milk chocolate.
Warm, fluid wax. Herbal. Citrus. Ginger. Mint. Mild grapefruity tannins. Dry. Bittersalt. A ten yo with character. Proper Springbank.
Dry. Bittersalt. Buttermilk.
- n: lactic acidity, lemon yoghurt,, vanilla , salt, smoke, soot and ashes.
I keep this short but the nose is lovely.
t: great powerful arrival. this bottling is the essence of springbank.
rather loud smoke with soot and ashes again. the lactic notes are weaker on the
palate, lemons, earth and many more lovely dirty notes that I cannot pin down.
f: long, dry, still lots of ashes, perhaps a little liquorice.
comments: even better than previous batches and a true bang for your buck.
