According to the bottom of this miniature bottled around 1966. Served at flights of TWA? There's a lot to tell about the history of I.W. Harper. A good summary can be found on Chuck Cowdery's magnificent blog: http://chuckcowdery.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/i-w-harper-bourbon-is-returning-to-usa.html
    • Nose
Gorgeous deep and concentrated bourbon nose with lots of vanilla, marzipan and honey. Lots of oak shavings. Cocoa powder. A bit caramel as well as well. menthol notes at the background.
    • Taste
A dash of dried fruits. Orange marmalade and tangerines. Also strawberries. Toasted oak. Toffee. Gingerbread. Lots of cinnamon. Later on more on pine. It's all very mouthcoating and chewy but also gentle and soft.
    • Finish
Medium long. A little clove. Some tannines. Liquorice at the end. Well balanced old-skool straight bourbon.
