  1. dramspotter scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

the finish so far is the winner but the palate is hard to get other than a (sweet) peat.
    • Nose
quite unrestrained with peat quite prominent. less fudge than butterscotch, some lemon or astringent note present
    • Taste
peat quite strong but there is not enough sweetness from the sherry coming through
    • Finish
medium->long; peat and heat coming through; now getting some furring in the mouth; a slight grain note as the finish tails off; lacking a bit in sweetness; now refluxing

  4. KayMeertens scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Peat, cranberry and light spices. A bit farmy as well, but not as huge as some other Ledaigs.
    • Taste
More spicy now. Peat, cranberry and toffee.
    • Finish
      Peat, cranberry and toffee.

  5. RichardMayston scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

Nose: Very Sherried nose, some peat

    Taste: Wow, lovelyMarmalade Laphroaig

Surprisingly good for a 10 non Islay. But wouldn't pay 150.

Good stuff, but it could be more grotesque. The first fill sherry doesn't really prevail.
    • Nose
Sweet peat, earth, camphor and lemon peel, sherry well hidden behind them.
    • Taste
Powerful. Peat, pepper, chili chocolate, snake cucumber. Salami and ash.
    • Finish
      Long, hot, ashy.

Matter of taste. Some like him, not me.
    • Nose
Soft aroma, immediately the sweet smoke rises in my nose. From the sherry I smell nothing, rather the oak, would even tap on a bourbon keg.
    • Taste
Very strong, the smoke dominates, spicy. The smoke does not develop nicely, not my taste. Even a drop of water helps there. Tastes like an ashtray ...
    • Finish
Long, but the aroma disturbs me.
