Whisky Reviews for VAT 69 Finest Scotch Whisky

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.60 points

  1. Calmar scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

A sip of history, a touch to the past, an attempt to feel the spirit of the times, it is always interesting to drink such artifacts, and even more interesting are the usual average samples, not many interesting as such, but reflecting their era. Yes, this blend is not particularly noticeable and does not shine with gustatory sensations, but there is still its charm, softness, smoothness, polish, but with the preservation of some characteristic core, it's pleasant to drink, it does not at all draw attention to itself as an easy background music that sets the general mood.
    • Nose
Restrained, dry, old books, old lacquered furniture, leaves, shoe cream, old leather goods, light notes of insecticides.
    • Taste
Light, sweet-lacquered, old wood, soft creamy shades, fondant, burnt biscuits.
    • Finish
Subtle, slightly spicy, light notes of lacquer, ginger.

  2. mds51 scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Very good for a cheap blend. Here you will notice again that not everything was bad in the past;)
    • Nose
Apricots, citrus, very subtle smoke, a hint of oak, wild honey, caramel, pistachios.
    • Taste
Caramel, forest honey, pepper, orange peel, slight bitterness of the oak.
    • Finish
The light spice stays in the mouth for a while then develops a minimal bitterness.
