Whisky Reviews for Bell's 20-year-old

  1. WhiskyLovingPianist did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

N: Hammy & [black] peppery with [green & red] bell peppers and an overall rounded robustness. Industrial-thick nose with an intense blossom in tow. Adding water brings more fudge/toffee to the party.
T: This is a swigging malt, a thick slugger of a whisky with lots of 'extra things' zipping around the periphery.
    F: Creamy vanilla.
C: Plenty here to glean if that's your will, or easily glugable if that's your desire. Cheap as chips at auction.

    Scores a C[+] [83]

N: Take 2 and looking for extras. I poured another dram of this because i thought it similar to a 1970’s Chivas 12yo, but no! There’s much curiousness and interest here as i previously encountered. Of note, a touch of vegetable rot decay similar to a Mortlach [25yo] funkiness.

T: Some fizz here too like the Chivas [so some similarity]. Hard to decipher particular descriptors aside from the old skool slightly metallic maltiness.

F: A clumsy finish on veg sour, vanilla maltiness and a metallic fresh.

C: Not working quite as well for me today as yesterday.

    Scores a C- [80]
