- not a very typical clynelish. Less wax and sweeter than the ob 14 year. a little sulphur in a good way. it reminds me some delicate springbank sherry cask. In general, it is a very good whisky at decent price. It is suitable for drinking at night while watching tv.
- A lot of sherry influence doesn't steal all of the Clynelish characteristics. "Hot" for a 46%. Recommended.
Immediate sherry influence is evident, with notes of dried tobacco, sweet prunes, and candy bars. Confectioners shoppe. Beeswax and malt in the background.
Sherried and spicy. Sea salt, chocolate, black pepper. Dried plantains. Oak and some dark red wine. Waxy mouth feel.
Rather long, dry, and spicy. Alcohol soaked cherries. Salt. More sherry notes on the palate. Stays waxy in the mouth.
