- From Weisshaus's shop
A small batch blended Islay Whiskey by Douglas Laing at which the name - once again - is program. The Diplomat Edition is intended only for ambassadors, but you can get the whiskey without proof of diplomatic status. Nose : fresh, salty, smoky and maritime, with a thin layer of honey over a peat lump. Palate : the full-bodied beginning makes a small pile of ash, with a sweet layer of honey in the tarragon, then set to smoky fireplaces and the taste of an Atlantic beach. Finish : long and very phenol-spicy finish, accompanied by salty liquorice, black powder and peat smoke. interesting
The best of Islay - or her Malts is in the golden blonde shiny bottle: peat smoke, sea salt, coal, sweetness, ash, peat smoke again, seaweed, sandy beach and - surprise - again a pile of peat smoke (about 40 PPM in total). Participants include Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore, Port Ellen (now closed) and other Islay distilleries.
Of course, the liquid peat bark is free of dyes and not cold-filtered.
