A hair below the 2017 according to my tastes. As in the latter the smoke is present throughout the tasting but really very light and very fine.
Another nice product made in Breizh.
    • Nose
First of all, there is a soft, fine smoke that gradually fades. A mineral nose (eggshell), with the freshness of citrus fruits and yoghurt (banana?). There is also a slight woody.
    • Taste
Alcohol perfectly integrated on citrus fruit and especially lemon, spices and bitterness of green wood.
    • Finish
Nice length, rather warm on the return of the fruit juice and vanilla cream. Always a little bitterness.

The atypical profile makes it a very good whisky, a real find!
    • Nose
A very fruity nose, banana, vanilla and apple, all on a light peat.
    • Taste
The mouth is powerful, thick, once the alcohol passed, the vanilla is in the center of the aromas, malted barley, and a sweet side that defies a little
    • Finish
The finish is long and very fruity, a delight.

It's been a while that I have not tasted a product from Glan Ar Mor. It's a distillery that dazzled me when I started in whisky. I came back later with a little more experience and I found that their traffic was a bit steep at 46%, there was a small problem of youth. I had tasted a Kornog Oloroso later and found it to be moderately convincing, that it did not put sherry in the limelight. I remember very well thinking "but let your juices age, what!" First nose very fine with fruity and minerality too. Beautiful fresh fruits are growing! There we talk about a bourbon first fill! Malt to finish. In the mouth, it's an elegance! The fine peat mixes surprisingly well with green banana overflowing with the fruit basket! Sweet spices in the finale. With a little water, more malt on the nose, more fruit in the mouth, and more fresh fruit in the finish that tend even the exotic fruits. What a reunion! If I wanted to be really objective, I should put 4 hearts, but nothing to f *****!

    Enthusiasm 5/5

Reminds me a little bit on a Calvados - not bad but definitely still too young
    • Nose
      Fruity, pears, apples, honey
    • Taste
Very lightly peated, hints of fruits - again apples and pears but less than on the nose
    • Finish
      Short

On the nose we find vanilla, banana, cereals, all covered with a veil of smoke. The palate is sweet (caramel), powerful, quite thick and with a good size. A long final starts on the banana and then we see a return of peat smoke. Pleasant.

gold color, nose on vanilla, yellow fruits, green banana, very slightly peaty, nice but a bit young. Mouth barely more peaty, vanilla, a little less fruit than nose even if there is still a lot, nice thick texture, well integrated alcohol. Finale of medium length, on vanilla and banana haribo, which in the long run becomes chemical and sickening.

  8. Ivynor scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Original, especially because of the green banana.
A young and expensive whisky but pleasant to drink.
    • Nose
Beautiful fruity, on pineapple, peach and green banana. The nose is quite sweet. Slightly peated
    • Taste
A very surprising explosion of green banana, it looks like a sweet banana flavor or syrup, which is disturbing because the rendering is almost chemical. Behind the banana, we find smoky, earthy notes, a little cereal. This whisky is probably young. It's easy, sweet, pretty creamy.
    • Finish
      Close to the mouth.
