Thoroughly enjoyed this dram at cask strength, I did try it with water and it made very little difference .
There doesn't seem to be much of a nose on this, what I can find is very faint, there is some banana , light peat and smoke, some sea water and the rubber on swimming goggles.
The taste is different all together , the peat and the smoke dominate, but there is a good balance there, it is quite young but that's ok. On the palate it is quite dry and astringent but very pleasant .As it's from the barrel it has a lot of floaters in the glass, gives me something to chew on . This is not a complex whisky but it is wonderful and simple.
The finish is very long and salty, also a little dry and a little bitter, but in a good way.
