    Great bottling, very good, a top malt for a reasonable price!

    [Color] amber;
    • Nose
      ripe fruits, berries, sweet honey, distinct oak flavors;
    • Taste
      aromatic fruity onion, pickled raisins, ripe grapes, honey, oily, dark chocolate, old spicy oak,
    • Finish
      medium long, oily, soft; Echo: decaying oak;

  4. davidloosli scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

    Rather strong on the alcohol despite the age
    • Nose
      Malty sweetness, ripe orange type fruit, peach, honey
    • Taste
      Peppery, peach, mandarines, grapefruit, honey, plume wine
    • Finish
      black tea, astringent, dry, honey candy

  5. PatSch23_12 scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

    A lot of cinnamon and spicy oak, which beautifully absorbs the sweetness and balances the whisky extremely well.
    • Nose
      Honey! Everywhere in the glass. Beautiful sweetness of blossom honey, bright and floral. Extremely scented with flowers. Ripe yellow drupes, peach, apricot and mirabelle. Despite the age and the alcohol content no over-emphasized seasoning or sharpness. Under the fruit compote still some green leaves and then a carpet of vanilla and oriental spices.
    • Taste
      The cask strength is now fully through, the alcohol presses the malt with the steam rammer over the tongue. Much spice now, not disturbing here, but you have to like old Weinfasslagerung. Caramel and nuts, with a creaminess that makes you think of honey again. Incredibly thick in the mouth
    • Finish
      Towards the end, a herbaceous-spicy wort comes up to the bitter bitterness and the barrel again lets the muscles play.

  6. Albaron scored this whisky 86 points Specialist

    Strong fellow, quite delicious, but not the best Glen Moray. Had hoped for something more. The alcohol is a bit strong and surprisingly young green oak instead of herbal seasoning of over 20 years.
    • Nose
      Alcohol, but then malty, oily, vinous, sweet, mirabelles, nectarines, beautiful fruity subliminal also a spice mixture
    • Taste
      Strong onset, lots of spice, tobacco, leather, also here the mirabelle plums, oily and a fruit cocktail, which can not be easily taken apart. At the end a little more tannins from the oak
    • Finish
      The oak is here and the fruits remain, especially the mirabelle comes again.

  7. theograph scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
      Fruity and with pronounced spiciness, clear oak note; harmonious in harmony with the aromas;
    • Taste
      Sweet and fruity, wine aromas, pleasant and harmonious; almost lovely, but definitely spicy;
    • Finish
      Medium length with distinct oak note and persistent spiciness

  8. gango4 scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

    A wonderfully fruity, sweet nose with a barrely mouthfeel and finish.
    • Nose
      Very sweet after honey. In addition bright fruits. No alcoholic tickling. The nose suggests an oily character. A very nutty note.
    • Taste
      Significantly less sweetness than in the nose. A little burning on the tongue, the cask strength gives a decent load. Clear spiciness on tap.
    • Finish
      Green oak remains with a nice sweet berry note that does not last long. Still getting drier.

  9. MasterOfPuppets scored this whisky 81 points Expert Junior

    I liked the nose, but the taste was not mine. Too bitter, as if only tannins have left the barrel.
    • Nose
      Peach, apple, grapefruit, clove, plum, almond, basil, nutmeg, grape
    • Taste
      Oak, pepper, grapefruit, rosemary, altogether quite bitter
    • Finish
      Medium long, spicy
