Pretty good, not my favourite. Really nice nose, but a little oaky and graphite-y for my taste. I don’t know if it’s my memories of the Caribbean, but I got loads of really nice tropical fruit throughout. Good middle of the road whisky.

Light and bright. Cereals, honey, brown sugar, and grassy sweetness. Some juicy lychee, white grape, and coconut water. Rich green apples and pear. A bit of a rice vinegar note. Just when you start to doubt the age statement, a well-aged leather note comes in, along with a little bit of savoury and the slightest hint of sulfur funk

Really interesting velvety mouth-coating texture on this one. Arrives sweet, with melon, honey, lychee, grapefruit, banana, dates, loads of nutmeg, and some graphite. The development is quite extended and slow, getting quite oaky and tannic,

Bright and oaky. More of that slightly metallic graphite note. Apple skins, clover honey, plantain chips, and more nutmeg. Some toasted raisin challah and leather. Right at the back it morphs into English Breakfast tea with honey.

Not bad, but the grapefruity bitterness is a matter of taste
    • Nose
Grapefruit, malty, honey, hints of apricots, a bit of dry hay
    • Taste
Punchy, oily, fruity, more grapefruit, hints of oak wood, subtle sweetness, spices
    • Finish
Long and burning, zesty, a tad bitter in the end - water recommended

Mjam, gentleman whisky, noble and filigree, many flavors, you can play beautifully with water, so really delicious. If 350 € for a bottle of whisky in my budget would be -> shit on the money, bring it!
    • Nose
gentle spiciness, white pepper, cloves, allspice, cedar wood and old leather, with water comes a fresh, orange fruitiness, peach, apricot, mirabelle, with more water towards pineapple / banana, to a light mint and a little anise
    • Taste
pure very bitter chocolate and spicy-hot, with (relatively much) water I get again beautiful fruit notes, apricot, orange and even grapefruit, with milk chocolate, almond flour, gentle spiciness
    • Finish
long, velvety, warm and dry, white pepper, cloves, licorice and a hint of grapefruit and passion fruit

    Tasting Notes by Diageo

Barrel: American oak barrels (hogsheads) refilled and European oak barrels refilled (Butts).

Aroma: Light and precise, with rapidly increasing depth and complexity. Top notes of fresh, crunchy, juicy fruits (orange and pear skin) supported by fragrant almond oil; then leather and slight hints of smoke. Water brings out the fragrant oil, followed by anise and fruit salad (canned pears). In the fading light smoke.

Taste: The body is light to medium heavy, oily. At first cool and sweet on the palate, with fresh acidity and a light, soft texture; then quickly sharper, with spicy fruit like a spicy fruit cake. Slimmer with a little water, still cool and not too sweet; increasing intensity of the fragrance and decay of sharpness in favor of a softer spiciness. Transition into an attractive dry nuttiness, dark chocolate and hints of menthol and grated orange zest. Still fresh and well balanced, with pleasing tougher texture.

Finish: Persistent and warming, with notes of licorice and peppermint liqueur, green pistachio and cloves.
