Whisky Reviews for Balmenach 1970 GM

Thin legs and slow oily tears coming down in the glass. A full nose of bourbon, barley and wood. Nothing sharp but a light sourness from green apples. In the background I find a light medicinal and sulphur presence.
A light creamy but spicy entrance with a big oak tang. It dries out the side of the mouth but the creaminess stops it from drying out completely. There is also a very fine and good honey, sherry and oak sweetness on the tip of the tongue. All together a spicy, sweet and chunky dram. There is no age statement but to me it's a nice matured whisky.
Long sweet, oaky and pleasant after dinner dram.
