  1. rottendon scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Mmh, enjoyable is the right expression, makes you dream of campfires...
    • Nose
Bonfire smoke, lots of charcoal, sweet and sour approach, alcohol is perfectly bound in.
    • Taste
Roasted marshmallows and a little ash, just a hint of BBQ sauce. Delish!
    • Finish
      Long, sweet and ahsy.

  2. fritzbrause did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

SMWS put a label "lightly peated" on this casks, but have tried it myself, i was blasted with peat and smoke! Very dry and salty .. Nothing for the feint hearted ... if you like peated bunnies: Try t get this!

    SMWS Tasting Notes

    Colour: Pale and ghostly

    Flavour profile: Lightly peated

The nose took one panellist to a public bar with a coal
fire; another was supping oysters by rock-pools and a third enjoyed salt and
chilli-rubbed ribs, crab and toasted marshmallows on a beach fire. We all
agreed the palate was great – intense, salty, smoky, sweet and slightly acidic
    – tropical fruit and flying saucers, charred prawns, Barbour jackets and
campfire smoke. The reduced nose, with coal, ash, lady’s perfume, manly musk
and an engine room, could have been a party on a paddle steamer. The reduced
palate – sweet and ashy with good savoury notes, recalled breezy summer days on
    Islay beaches.

Drinking tip: Would work with food - or to accompany dreams
