Edit: A Ben Nevis? I would not have expected that!
Blind tasting: Dark aromas stand out clumsily from the glass, immediately Cognac or Armagnac comes to my mind. These flavors are hard to define for me. Oily fruit flavors, a hint of liquorice, baked apple, burned grain? I have to admit, I'm a little confused.
Acid berries immediately mix with spicy wood. Dull and tart oak tones strike the tongue. The first impression is fresh and clear, then creates a wonderful wooden touch. Slight sharpness is distributed on the palate and on the tongue. Walnut flavor and again this oily touch.
The finish begins with the tart wood flavors of the taste. Again a hint of licorice and oily fruit. The flavors of the finish are closely interwoven and change constantly. At the end of the departure rancid walnuts fall into wet autumn leaves.
