Whisky Reviews for Balblair 1959 GM

Trying such malts is surely a unique experience, but in this particular case mostly because of the age and not the sheer quality of the liquid, I believe.
    • Nose
Quite straightforward with tons of fresh oaky notes, ripe apples, vanilla, some spices, pepper, nutmeg. Some lemon juice and anise follow. Raw and natural.
    • Taste
Very thin, waterish. It feels like a week tea with no alcohol whatsoever. Super mild, a tiny amount of oak, green teat, slight herbal notes, a pinch of pepper and a cube of sugar. Good balance.
    • Finish
Sugary sweetness with a touch of pepper and some herbal notes. Medium long.
