The quinine was a bit of a negative, but I'm such a fan of the rest of it that I scored it relatively high.
    • Nose
Beehive, very waxy, apricots, peaches, marzipan, some pine sap and menthol.  You can only get this with lots of age!
    • Taste
Rich, sweet, and prickly.  Honey, apricots, yellow plums, all sorts of spices, less waxy than the nose, and hints of quinine.
    • Finish
Medium, dry, a tad bitter, some citrus, more quinine.

Tasted blind. Macduff? I have tasted only one before (a young) A very bodybuilt malt for 49.1%! A real discovery. Enthusiasm 4/5
    Whisky n ° 1554
    • Nose
It starts a little waxy like a Clynelish, a little fruity like a littlemill (apricot, peach ...). But what is this drink of old age - as evidenced by the emergence of frangipane? Gourmand and sweet.
    • Taste
A little fat but fresh too. Sweet spices. Powerful on the palate, fleshy.
    • Finish
      Fruity.

  5. Donwaldorf scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

"Blinded 1/8" An excellent dram who stays straight in his boots throughout the tasting. A real treat for the taste buds.
    • Nose
There are fresh fruits then it is specified on citrus fruits (Mandarins), peach and apricot. Behind is a buttered side with almonds.
    • Taste
In the lineage of the nose, there is apricot, oranges, sugar syrup with a slight woody / spicy. It needs ventilation to optimize all that.
    • Finish
Average length on the fruits mainly (always the same) then on the pastry, vanilla and butter.

Of a beautiful delicacy and a great subtlety. The alcohol is well balanced. A beautiful whisky.
    • Nose
White grapes, lemon syrup, apricot notes. Peach liquor develops, as well as dried resin.
    • Taste
Sweet and syrupy. Honey, exotic spices, dried apricot, pink grapefruit, and orange zest. Vanilla crème brûlée at times.
    • Finish
Average. A cool green wood falls on the palate. Sweet spices tingle on the cheeks. The sweet citrus is always present, generating a slight fruity bitterness.
