Well, somehow very weak and hardly any flavors can be heard. Very disappointing for me. The spice is something recognizable as well as the sweetness, but all in all there is much too little.
    • Nose
Very shy. A light alcohol note. Then come on a bit of rum and vanilla. Reminds me somehow of these flavor bottles for baking. Very sweet and a slight tingling sensation in the nose. Also a bit of wood, but very little. All in all, very pleasant but very weak.
With water, spicy notes increase, but otherwise no real change, maybe a little bit of lemon.
    • Taste
Very sweet with a great spiciness. Reminds me somehow of wine gum from Haribo. The wood now gets through a little better.
    • Finish
Short to medium. The wort now occupies the whole mouth. The sweetness is now somewhat complemented by a bitterness. The vanilla makes itself felt again. Likewise some cinnamon.

    SMWS Tasting Notes

    Colour: Candied orange peel

    Flavour profile: Spicy & sweet

We imagined being in a log cabin roasting chestnut on an
open fire. At the same time we were preparing soy ginger fried coucous and
maple brown sugar crème brûlée. The taste neat was oily, sweet, spicy and
herbal with a hint of pepper (even some peppermint) all in perfect balance,
just like in a Sazerac cocktail using rye whisky. With water we got out the
paint brushes, not for some DIY but to start an oil painting. Sweeter notes of
heather honey arrived whilst on the palate, the first brush strokes on the
canvas were made - mellow yellow.

Drinking tip: Snuggling up in front of an open fire
