      Punchy, sherried.

Really rich, also one-dimensional. Do you like sherry?
    • Finish
      70 70
Finish is very pleasant, rich and sulfuric and everything you want from sherry.

One of the better (young) Sherry-Bruichladdich in the past few months. Strong, a lot of sherry and no major junk notes.
Actually only the price disturbs here. Just under 130 € are simply completely exaggerated for a 9-year-old malt.
    • Nose
Dry sherry, raisins, red fruits. Alcohol noticeable, but not disturbing. It gets sweeter and softer with time in the glass.
    • Taste
At first extremely sweet, here the fruits are full. Then with a little dry and tart notes. The fruits are coming back now, light oak, some leather (?) And a dry tobacco note are now available. All this against strong alcohol that drives the flavors on the tongue. Not unbelievably complex, but nice to drink
    • Finish
Medium length, sweetish finish. The tannins are only remotely perceptible, in the foreground clearly the fruit sweetness.

  4. holborndrinker did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I believe this is a 9yo bottling - bottled 5 months or so short of its 10th birthday.

Really lovely stuff this one, and the nose is just such a fantastic joy to smell.
    • Nose
Well, this such a sherry cliché that it’s almost funny. The notes follows: RAISINS, petrol, matches, dates! And that petrol/matches notes are almost (can’t stress this word enough) to much, to no. It’s just nice, clean and in-your-face sherry!
    • Taste
Rather bitter and dry. That very classical cacao bitterness, really. Apples peal, petrol again, candle wax (the texture fuels this note).
    • Finish
Gingerbread, cacao, raisins. And it’s long. And it’s grand. And gorgeous!
