Whisky Reviews for Dailuaine 2008 vW

- Nosing: freshly poured, very "white wine", with good will citrus. Over time, the circus note becomes clear, behind it pear, possibly a little mandarin. Behind it wood, which almost reminds of smoke. I just like that, now with the last glass very well, even if you have to accept his youth. Taste: "little consistency", no oiliness due to age. Simple sugary sweetness, then comes the pear and tangerine. Quick comes the alcoholic sharpness, which covers the flavors somewhat, but then rises in some oak flavor and a clear grape note. Finish: slightly alcoholic, slightly warming. Some wood. Overall short, alcohol and wood stick together with the white wine note. 20/18/17/18 = 73 Water shifts the picture clearly, first to harmonious, then to accelerate the less beautiful effects backwards. But it comes for the first time a malt character in the finish. 21/17/17/18 = 73 My bottle was quickly used up due to division, it would be interesting to know how it presents itself after 16 weeks of oxidation. There could still be points up in it. The first glass, however, was significantly worse than the points awarded here.
