for 11 years already very complex, great PLV, great fruit and flower spectrum
    • Nose
Vanilla, Crema Catalana, ripe mountain peaches, cloves, stirred honey, heather, flowering broom bushes - fresh floral fruitiness - "spring awakening"
    • Taste
full-bodied fruit sweetness - ripe mirabelles, apricot, dried papaya, bitter orange marmalade spiced with cloves, ginger and anise
    • Finish
medium-long, fruity, dry in the finish

Yes, this Dailuaine’s simplicity is excellent. Thank you, Gert, for the sample.
    • Nose
Spicy, sweet and fruity. I experience the nose in that order. Spicy from ginger, cloves and black pepper, sweet as from butterscotch and some molasses and fruity as in pomelo and apples.
    • Taste
The arrival is sturdy, but not scorching. A bit piquant, yes. Same order on the palate. Spicy, sweet and fruity. But also quite creamy. Reminds me of vanilla custard or crèmre brûlée, but flanked with a cup of espresso with a lot of milk foam.
    • Finish
The finish is long and surprisingly soft. Not a trace of oak, except in the big spiciness.

    SMWS Tasting Notes

    Flavour Profile: Spicy & Sweet

    Colour: Sunset Gold

Rich spice and elegant wood tantalised our senses as we strolled through an old library of spices, the air filled with cloves, fresh ginger, fennel, black pepper and mandarin marmalade. The smell of espresso dregs and sweet demerara sugar led our noses into the cafe that was finely adorned with hand-made maple wood furniture. The tempting menu included clootie dumpling, tart cherry flan, blackcurrant chews, creme brulee and an enviable chocolate biscuit selection. We could not resist and settled on tasting the surprisingly spicy ginger cake with chilli honey and orange chocolate washed down with a nip of Danish schnapps.

Drinking tip: A welcome home after a cold day on the hills.
