Respect, this sample can do something! Rarely was my salivation stimulated while drinking, rarely did I have such a creamy and greasy mouthfeel. The combination of fruit, smoke and peat whets the appetite for the next glass. Likewise, this sample impresses with its powerful yet creamy and mild style. A great and tasty malt, I like it very much!
    • Nose
Blind tasting: A subtle and subtle smoky note immediately mixes with a hint of peat. The fruit flavors are rather inconspicuous at first and only slowly emerge. After a few moments bananas, oranges and apricots show up, malty sweetness rises and vanilla aroma exudes its sweet fragrance timidly. Citrus fruits show, the fine and fragrant slightly mineral smoke peat note is impressive. The nose is mild and yet very aromatic at the moment. Slowly my salivation is stimulated, immediately follows the first sip.
    • Taste
Short fruity hints are perceptible, then unfolds at the first sip powerful earthy peat aroma and the smoke notes are intense releases their aromas. Spicy and tart wood tones appear while slowly earthy and wooden sharpness lays over the tongue. The sharpness is increasing and hot chili with a pinch of salt and pepper envelop the tongue and warm the palate. My salivation is massively stimulated, I'm literally the water in the mouth together. Slowly, the heat fades and leaves a slightly greasy aroma on the tongue. Old walnuts mix with the fried bacon, slightly scorched wood is discreetly in the background, the saliva flows through the mouth creamy and sweet. Here and there are fruity elements, butter melts in the mouth, the peat and the now cold smoky turn right again.
    • Finish
Discreet sharpness coupled with harsh wood tones and a hint of earthy peat rests on the palate. The aftertaste is almost as powerful as the taste and as creamy, but extremely greasy with a note of butter fused. After some time, the walnuts and a hint of wet foliage come into their own again, harsh wood tones and some smoke are remembered.

Is quite good, but quite disappointing when compared to the standard 18yrs or even 25yrs.
    • Nose
Medical smoke, mint, lime, pear, smoked bacon, eagle owl.
    • Taste
Wood, smoke, bitter, dry, salt. Stinging alcohol.
    • Finish
      medium, woody

Class young Caol Ila from a great bourbon barrel. 90 points
    • Nose
sweet smoke. Banana bread bears witness to the intense bourbon barrel. But also grassy-kräutrige notes show up. Rosemary. Pastry notes. Fresh liquid caramel in the pot. Subtle citrus notes in the background
    • Taste
Nice sweet. oily and mouthwash. The alcohol is not biting at all. Next, the pastry notes remain dominant. Some lemon abrasion. And of course nice, delicate Islay smoke. Fine peppery, slightly nutty. class
    • Finish
medium and sweet. Again banana on campfire

    Odor
Peat, leather, smoke. What buttery. And fruity, especially banana, but also citrus. Also a bit salty.
Taste Small salmiak-kick, especially licorice, slightly peppery, peat, smoke. Full taste. Fruity again, fresh.
Finish Medium to long, slightly peppery, peat, fruity.
Comment This is a really nice mix between fresh fruit and firm peat. Both in smell and taste these components are nicely balanced.

Nose: more vegetal notes this time. More of a mezcal feeling as well (spirity, earthy notes, fat smoke). There are few fruity notes and less of the menthol freshness. Instead more chalky notes and wet clay. Raw grassy notes and mashed potatoes. After a while lots of green bananas and growing vanilla. Mouth: punchy, with green bananas, deep smoke and white pepper. Anise. Other than that, nice but a little simple perhaps, not much happening compared to the others. Finish: dry, long, with more salty / coastal notes and a hint of mustard.

High quality again, though less within my personal preferences. Slightly simpler, without the medicinal touches to lift it. Around € 115, still available in some shops.

    Score: 85/100

The youthful freshness is an absolute gain for this malt and makes him almost mature again, pleasant herbal notes and even with 52.2% pure super drinkable
    • Nose
a wide-ranging, lemony sweetness at first, young green bananas, shortbread biscuits, cookies with icing, the smoke is sublime and threatening in the background, then flower-like, dewy meadow, oiled bicycle chain, tool basement
    • Taste
medium onset, smoke and spice increase in intensity and superimpose the initial fruitiness, yet is very pleasantly fresh
    • Finish
Liquorice, menthol, slightly herbaceous, medium in the throat, but remains very aromatic on the cheeks and in the back of the throat
