[February, 2004] I had this during the 5th Anniversary Tasting of MaRa at Limburg.
In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 95. My notes state a strong OBF (adhesive glue) and a very interesting nose on old byre, cheese (a nice one, not the "stinking socks") lemon grass and buttered toffee. All very gentle and nicely balanced. The taste is all about peaty flavours what is surprising as there were no peaty aromas in the nose at all. It then gets earthy and later buttery. The finish is of medium length and enjoyable. A very interesting dram as the nose and the taste are completely different (what happens not that often) - but both are very delicious...

Yes, this was flabbergasting even by the high standards of the early 2000's...
