The bottle was opened in 2020 - sulphurous-fleshy nose, velvety taste, beauty!

I find a very fine drop. Smell very flowery and fresh. No more boring finishes. Just a nice traditional whisky without much frills. Very fine in the taste and slightly strong. Beautiful long finish in which one feels very fine again the oak wood. Great whisky.

Nice, very easy to drink. Enthusiasm Nose 4/5 Mouth 3/5 Final 2/5 Whisky n ° 1648
    • Nose
Woody, caramel, malt. Sweet and balanced. Hazelnuts, walnut hull, vanilla. Traces of sulfur. It is expected but pretty!
    • Taste
Nutmeg and other spices on the attack. Soft. The presence is honest considering the reduction but the aromas are well diluted.
    • Finish
We find nutmeg and honey, but the finish is short and a bit bitter.

a great understated Speyside single malt that has got a strenght character. It can easily compete with other better known Speyside distilleries.
    • Nose
sherry; spices; oak; dark, dried fruits; sweetness; nutty notes; dark citrus notes; floral notes; hints of chocolate and coffee; strong barley note; creamy associations; oily character; raisins; sultanas; floral; honey; hinbts of (red) apples; overall very balanced and mature character with omnipresent spices
    • Taste
sherry; mild, creamy oak; floral; malted barley; dried fruits; less sweetness than the nose implies; spices; black coffee; dark, bitter chocolate; raisins; sultanas; hints of nuts; hints of apples; slightly floral; sweetness in the backround; overall very mature and oak-influenced character
    • Finish
medium; spicy; dry; oak; nutty; and sherry influenced character; overall mellow, mature and intense

A different and kind of intriqueing whisky.

Best part is the nose, least the finish.
    • Nose
Bittersweet on the nose, vague presence of sherry, fresh "Play-Doh" clay, swizz herbal candy, ozone emitions from a Xerox laser copier, every now and then a waft of ice coffee.
    • Taste
At first mildly spicy, fading quickly, kind of "dark" liquorice profile.

Judging this by only a sample is hard, as it tasted rather different depending on where in the mouth each little sip "landed".
    • Finish
A bit too short, but I found a nice undefinable slightly bitter nuttyness. After the nuts fade it leaves a not so pleasant dry and astringent sherry in the mouth.

The main reasons why  I bought this was because ithe was cheap , it was a distillery I haven't tried before and it was 15 years old .  It wasn't a great whisky but it wasn't shit either .

This isn't a complex whisky by any stretch ,it's a funny one because there were times where it actually tasted alright but they were very few and far between .
    • Nose
A little bit of aniseed and dark toffee , glazed cherry , gravel for some strange reason , there is some coffee in there and that smell when you open a tin of water colour paints . These notes are over the entire bottle and there was times where I couldn't get anything at all, I really had to work on this one .
    • Taste
This started off terrible , it was quite dry and bitter but as you make your way down the bottle , some fruit does make an appearance and there is some mixed spice but it isn't spread evenly .
    • Finish
Short dry and bitter , very disappointing and it also sticks to the back of the throat .

N- Boiled citrus with cinnamon, berries and soft herbal notes, with
elegant sherry notes develop quickly with dried fruits chocolate. Not
too heavy, pleasantly complex and round.

P- Weightier sherry with more spices, charred notes and peppery. Some salt at the tails.

F- Medium-long, smooth. Minty and liquorice with dried hawthorn, again, some salt lurking...
